Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

With Ryles he dropped Brown because he had signed with Newcastle and said the time is now. If Luai was at Parra you would assume he would also be dropped.

No consistency in his responses. Pressure maybe
Ryles is in a similar position to Benji. He needs results and needs them soon. He isn’t protected in the media like Benii though, so he’s under even more pressure.

No Broncos , Tigers are saying he is asking to much , problem there is we need big blokes who can play middle and back row , Bunty and Hunt may not be with us in 27 gotta pay over sometimes but if bronco wants him they see something , Melb trying to re sign him as well but I heard he wanted to come back to Sydney ??
Id be disappointed if we let go of hunt. He turned a corner this year. His 40m try at leichardt with the side step is my favourite tigers try this season. Up there with the 100m try vs cowboys last year.

I agree a fit Hunt this year was good , we all were good at the start of the year , KPP , Sam F , May Jnr , Hunt , May Snr , Turuva , AD , all we’re playing very well , Madden coming in was also solid , Herbert & Skelton putting in good games , API was solid , then it all went to poop with injuries , let’s hope the club and coach sees this and fixes it up with a shopping spree , and yes it’s harder due to new teams but not all want to live in PNG or Perth , Blore is there for the taking , go get him

The fact the Panthers are interested in Seyfarth should tell you there is some value in him. Maybe he’s just a victim of our system. One of those players who could go to another level in a new environment. He’s shown glimpses over the years. Just has no consistency.
To me it smells like we are trying to finally retain players at close to their value (not way overs).

The 3 mentioned a couple of months ago that we were shopping were To'a ($400k+), Hunt ($500k+) & Seyfarth ($450k+). In brackets are the approx salaries these guys are on with us from what I have researched over time.

It's probably not that we don't want to keep Seyfarth but we don't want to keep his inflated contract. Unfortunate situation and I think his contract extension was in the Benji/Richo era.

So with Luai & To'a already out for next season, it wouldn't surprise me if the other 2 are next, and then the value of our retained squad is in a much better space. That's my take anyway.

Does Blore have much of an injury history lol…

I assume they have put an offer in for him… I think you got to be a bit careful not to overpay for someone with a long injury history … I actually thought there were rumours he wanted to come back to Sydney ( sick relative ) and it was between us and St George ..obviously that one seemingly is not correct

will WT likely need to pay some of the freight to move Seyfarth on at that price ? He seems overpaid ….

2 ACL’s (opposite legs) and think his ankle has been the issue this year

I think our big issue is we need to get to the top 8 urgent , it’s been so long it’s now a joke , if we don’t have the players to get there now and our juniors are still a couple years away we need to go shopping 2 and 3 year deals , I say Bunty and Hunt left who in our juniors is ready for 2027 if none go shopping , I hope we are looking as we have plenty spots to fill and we can not fill them with kids or blokes who we bring back from driving a fork lift or selling cars we need nrl ready players

Not for us.
Perth Bears news:

Australian International and 2025 NRL premiership hero Gehamat Shibasaki has signed with the Perth Bears alongside NSW Under 19s representative Jope Rauqe in the club’s latest recruitment blitz.

I enjoy reading about the purchases of other clubs. Thanks for posting this news.

Just on juniors, I know a young player down this way who has some talent and is signed to the Dragons. He was satisfied with that achievement, so he didn't bother competing in the Schoolboys' carnival although eligible to do so.

St George are going to have a problem in a few years holding onto all of their young forwards, especially keon on $1mill plus... hope we can jag one or two of them.. I suspect the coachman bros wont split up... so maybe we need to eye a Hamish stewart

There are more in the lower grades that I would be targeting.
