It is understood Brailey has been granted a release from the final year of his contract at the Raiders. He will join the Tigers on a two-year deal from 2027.

Brailey has been part of a hooker logjam at the Raiders with Owen Pattie and Tom Starling, winning the spots in the 17 in recent weeks.

Brailey only joined the Raiders this year from Newcastle. His grandfather, Brian Brailey, played for the Balmain Tigers in the 1960s.

Brailey played under Tigers assistant coach John Morris at the Sharks.

Leaves one hooker log jam to join another?....we need a consistant first grader.....I dunno

I think it’s a good piece of business. Lanyon is a trier but he’s probably emergency level. Api is constantly prone to suspension and he’s getting older. Plus he’s probably more a back rower these days.

Our depth this year was exposed this season. The only thing Mav Geyer should start is a rumour. Not a NRL game.

I don't know why people are getting their knickers in a knot about signing Brailey he's a Hope replacement i expect he would be having slightly more involvement than Hope but only because Hope is Hopeless.
Haywood will still get minutes Api is good for a suspension or 2 every season they way he tackles add in injuries you need depth. I don't want to see Hope ever and guys like Haywood and Lanyon get to develop their craft and keep getting a taste.

Its less about training and more about being a student of the game.

Some of this below are things I did as a kid playing footy:

- go for the quick taps when there was a penalty.

- when we were by 6/12, direct the forwards to run toward the centre of the field so I could set up for a field goal.

- when running with the ball, learn how to change hands, so you could use the correct arm to fend off the defender.

- put your foot over the deadball line when a grubber came in, so it meant a 20m restart.

Theres probably another 5 or 6 i could rattle off.. but i consider it footy iq.

Some players dont even watch the other games these days.. I think thats insanity.
Nothing shits me more than players who say they don't watch any footy at home, and we have a few at the Tigers. How do you continue to develop if its not by watching how others play in your position or how they play in opposition to you.

Twal has been decent at lock this year but is by no means a long term solution there, we need someone there with more speed, ability to find his front and more ball playing. Whilst Twal has improved on these this year he would be best suited at prop. I hope that’s what Benji is thinking here but who knows!
