Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

WT need to keep an eye on this situation as Wahs have a plethora of outside backs for 2027 so someone like Haizyn Mellars or rising star Sio Kali could see themselves too far down the depth chart.
Do we even bother to try to sign any young warriors talent, EVER? Benji must see we need so size and pace in backs and forwards but we never seem to be in the market for any of them.. really annoys me .. would love an exciting signing like bishop Neale or roqua or mellars , bloody manly snapped up kayliss katilofa in quick time… why don’t we even look? Jesus even taateo and Baka aho and faingaa and saukru should be locked up and their defence worked on but NOTHING is happening… would LOVE some good news right now.. I can’t face another year being a prop, a 2nd row a centre and a winger short in depth

It’s the gonna kill the game. The talent pool is stretched thin as it is. Now there is going to be an extra 90 players across 3 squads. An extra 51 players every weekend. You ever look at AFL odds? Half the games every weekend, teams are $1,10 and under. That’s going to be the NRL soon. Don’t be surprised if a team racks up 100 points in the next couple of years.

It has to be another NZ team a place that can provide young players with an opportunity or at the very least a QLD team so many good players in QLD can not get a first grade spot

The NRL Should also provide funding to set up a better quality competition in WA there is 12 teams in the local first grade over there and they should bring the standard up

Last night on 360 there was a list of dolphins off contract with some big names in there; hammer, bostock, finefuiaki, katoa, lemuelu, flegler, cobbo, Knowles and fuller. We should definitely have a crack at most of them even to drive the price up and put cap pressure on. I’d happily take all of them bar cobbo and maybe flegler

No...so off tap it aint funny

*We turned a profit a.year or so ago.
*Both suburban grounds are getting upgrades.
* Theres big plans to keep improving the pathways in the s/w..we won both regional comps in 16s and 18s.
*We make the NRL money

What makes you"pretty sure" the NRL wants to dump us?
He’s pretty sure,, seems like a flat earther that does his own research type when it comes to the tigers type

The Wahs are the most popular team in NZ in any sport. It would be dumb as shit adding another team and syphoning off their support.

Halangahu resigns with the Dragons. Would have loved him. They are doing very, very good work with their roster.
I heard a bloke on SEN this morning foreshadowing Halangahu re-signing for the dragons but he also mentioned Logan Spinks. I’m not sure if he said Spinks had re-signed with the Dogs or he had also signed with the Dragons.

Any of those would be great for us

Mate, forget it. If you aren’t one of his mates, Benii is not interested. We’re more likely to bring in Beau Ryan or Tim Moltzen. I’m not being facetious either.
Or former Magpie & Wests Tigers player Steve Georgallis returning to an A/Coach role at the club (currently NRLW Eels coach) would not surprise.

I can’t speak for the odds but as someone who watches more AFL than NRL now I can guarantee you it’s a harder comp to pick than NRL.

They want to grow League in NZ not undercut the Warriors.

League support is heavily centralised in Auckland (esp. South Auckland) and very much reduced in all other major cities like Wellington and XChurch.

But there's a huge cash-strapped Rugby Union development pool that NRL can exploit.

And Kiwis will follow quality rugby league if you can bring it to them. It's a market ready to be explored. North and South Island teams would be an ideal.

5.3M total Kiwis make it a total market not far short of the population of QLD. And a consistent match in that earlier time zone.
