BENJI’S STRIPES CHANGE

There was an expectation Benji Marshall’s coaching staff could be in for a shake-up at the end of the season, and it now appears a fait accompli after the Tigers’ collapse this season.

Despite his close friendship with the Tigers’ 2005 premiership winners who are on his staff, including Brett Hodgson and Chris Heighington with Pat Richards as football manager, it’s almost inevitable Marshall will have an “outsider” as part of his set-up next year.

The Tigers used the bye week to take stock after the Adam Doueihi saga and expect Marshall to sound out some candidates soon.

Wonder if there is legitimate or just more speculation by uninformed journalists.

It's clear it's needed though.

Seems to have done well as an assistant coach. Reports when he was at Penrith was that his attack coaching was very good. Plenty of experience, has been in a number of systems. Id be happy to give him a shot provided Benji allows him to coach our attack. I have a lot of fear that Benji wants control of all of that.
