Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

So we have no $$$ for next year even are giving romey the flick or no players want to come again to this club? The new CEO is no richo

I understand there are dollars , but we are using Luai’s saved money to put into signing players already at the club …make your own assessments of chances of success
That all sounds promising if they actually work out.

It’s a strategy they have tried to implement several times in the past with limited succes.., it’s generally a difficult path, and there is always the risk that the player leaves / forces their way out just as they are showing a return on the long term investment ..it’s also a slow path although if you get it right the success will be sustained for longer ..

Having said that … they haven’t had great success with new players they have brought to the club either .

Fastest recorded speed in Australian rugby league. Chris Woodbridge, fullback of the Western Clydesdales in the QCup. Looking for an NRL deal. Highlights from Sunday against Tweed Seagulls.

He needs to practice his Swan Dive or he’s gunna do a mischief.

Could be a Development or ft Train & Trial deal for Max Taotua. Was on a pre-season T&T with the NRL squad earlier this year. Bright young 21yo talent. Strong attacking right centre with soft hands. Has been found out defensively this season in Flegg with his lateral movement but the tools are there. Hopefully twin brother Mitch is next who has had a better season tbh.

Good signing

But it is up to him to WANT to succeed, needs a big off season in weights and agility/speed work

He has form for brain farts

He also squirrel.gripped Gagai..or hoppaed him...its a bit unclear

They were still a.slim chance at finals until his final mother of all brain farts.cost them.that chance

Hardly a beat up
Alright I’m not continue to go on. I’m gonna go through it one last time and leave it

- There’s a bit push and shove in the tackle. They stand up. Gagai shoves big red who slaps him in the face
- Whistle is blown. No penalty awarded as yet
- Klein calls both players over. Tells them to settle down. Tells Gagai penalty is going against him
- Everyone starts to go back to their marks
- Bunker tips off Klein that big red’s slap was the bigger offence. Advises he reverse the penalty and bin big red

The bunker intervening is what blew it up. Big red did not go over and slap Gagai after the Raiders got the penalty. I’m not saying anyone is claiming that. But using myself as an example as someone who didn’t see it live. After seeing Stuart’s presser, I assumed that must have been what happened. But then when I actually watched it, I was like “that was it?”. Even had to go back and watch it two or three more times to make sure I didn’t miss anything. It should never have been a Raiders penalty to begin with.

Good luck to the young fellow.

Preston apparently is going to November 1 after being lowballed lol
Also likely is Sam Walker.

The PNG opportunity is basically holding clubs to ransom. Players can hold off extending with their current club with the threat of big dollars in PNG, forcing current club to either risk playing their bluff or pay 'over's & potentialy ruin their salary cap.

Re. Samuela, I do think he will stay and probably likely already agreed in principle (as extended family is so much to them and would be so hard to move away at a young age).

Yes PNG has lured some good players but most are closer to 30 than 20 with wives/girlfriends & some kids.

Quote from Katoa: How refreshing.....I wish our guys felt this way!

“I’m completely happy here,” Katoa said.

“To be honest, I’ve got no aspirations to leave the Dolphins.

“I owe this club everything.

“I know there’s other clubs out there and opportunities, but the Dolphins gave me an opportunity straight out of high school to come and live out my dreams.

“My biggest goal is to repay this club.

“I know the biggest way to repay them is with a championship.

“So I’m not looking to go anywhere else ... hopefully I can win a premiership here.”

Championship? It’s not the NBA.

If the penalty had gone to the Knights initially and not reversed, it would not even be a story. To be dropped and then told to find another club for it is insane.

And if your aunty had balls she'd be your uncle.

If I ever see premiership winning coach Ricky Stuart I'll be sure to tell him that a zero premiership winning poster on a backwater forum thinks he's insane. There's obviously other shit going on, he has form for being a loose cannon on the field with shit discipline.

They have carte blanche. They can recruit anyone in the comp. Sure, they got Luai, but people need to relax thinking there’s going to be some sort of mass exodus. They have bigger fish to fry than our average roster.
