Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I expect him to be given another chance … but do you think he deserves any criticism?

Are you happy with the game plan every week …particularly the conservative 5 hit ups and a bomb style of attack ? How about the overuse of Api and May earlier in the season , and selections in general you see most weeks ?
I was never comfortable with his initial appointment, let alone his extension.

He has never coached ever and was never known for his strategic footy genius. How was he going to succeed at the top level?

He has proved excellent in the media under pressure and somewhat with recruitment but douehi gate in particular highlights his lacking. Also surrounding himself with the old boys rather than picking talent for his support. Perhaps his hands are tied but we need to change direction asap.

I’m a little skeptical that any proposed solution with the phrase “throw the chequebook “ is going to be an option in reality
You will never get anyone who will have major control of the wests tigers , even Gould , we had Richo who is same same to Gould ,HBG won’t let it happen as each time the new guy says this is what needs to happen HBG will just either do it or stop it m they can’t let the power go , we need new owners who are not Balmain or Wests to buy the place and then sell a few shares in the joint like titans did to Johns and Tallis etc , get those guys to mix in with the nrl side and the junior base , neither of those guys are attached to titans until now , this way we go forward , but again HBg won’t sell as they loose that power of controlling and NRL side , I feel we are just stuck in a rut that will never go away unless PVL jumps in and sets up the wests tigers board with nrl people on it , this way they can go back to PVL and let him know what’s going on , HBG are a blight on this club and it’s the debenture holders who are the problem, But these problem people are protected hats why they would never change the system they have protecting them

Whoever the coach is in 2028 stands a fighting chance of success that season. The one and only year we have a genuine home ground advantage for most of the season (Leichhardt). Next year is going to be horrendous.

I remember in 1966 when the rorters did not win a single game,we will go very close to that next year unless there are massive changes to our roster and overall attitude. The NRL provides the vast majority of the finances to the club (like it does to all teams) and should start to take an interest into why our mob are so consistently horrendous.
If it wasn't for addicted gamblers playing poker machines HBG couldn't run a hot dog stand.

Bloody Bula, how frustrating he is. He definitely is very fast. When Weekes got away against Canberra I said to my mate "Bula will catch him easy" and he did. Missed the tackle, but pace wise he is very fast. Then last week he gets on the outside of Suli about 5 times and Suli gets him every time. Maybe his initial excelleration is poor and thats why he looks like he could break through but never does.
I hope the Bula injury is genuinely restricting him.

Otherwise, it is the fastest decline in player quality I have ever seen post signing a contract.

He hasn't broken the line, created an overlap, supported a midfield offload or made an effective defensive play in weeks. Most concerningly he has been out of position numerous times and rarely creates opportunity for those around him.

I was a big Bula defender and really believed in his growth trajectory, so I hope it is the injury. But I have seen plenty of players drop in quality after receiving financial security.

Seyfarth to the Broncos.
I hope it’s true as he will go great in a team with some genuine star players and will show what we are missing out on.
Who replaces Seyfarth if he leaves - Brailey maybe or is the clean out starting - Luai , Geyer , Kit L , Luke L , Skelton ? , Hope , Mason, Toa , , we only got 2 coming so far

I’m starting to think Benji likes players who show minimum effort, no impact and no speed.
A few theories ...

To'a, Seyfarth & Hunt were originally mooted as available to explore options to save on their 'above-value' contracts. Maybe that is still in play even with Luai going.

Seyfarth & Doeuihi are both departing. Hopefully not Twal as well given in the same clique. May explain Terrell's body language lately as he likes those boys. Just conspiracising!

The NRL has too much on its plate with Perth / PNG / Team 20 and buying the Super League ( maybe) to be worrying about us in the next few years…the WT are going to have to do it themselves

I hope that this is 100% bs because why on earth would we let go one of the few blokes we have who works his bum off and does not give up who is costing us very little financially. However it is our "management" that make the brain dead decisions so it is not impossible to imagine.

Absolute basketcase. How much is the board interfering with decisions like this?
