My big issue is too many fans seem to want to get in a pissing contest about how good our recruits and junior talent is

Players Andrews , Makasini , Roberts ,Godinet , Haywood etc are getting way overhyped by some on here and then when they don't meet the ridiculous standards some set they become plodders in people's eyes

Let the kids develop properly , don't rush them into grade and let them get 50 games into their careers and see where they end up

It was absolute stupidity to blood Andrews and Haywood at NRL level in an injury hit and confidence sapped side

When did you see players coming rushing in when Makasini was getting flogged
But then Makasinis problems were created by has previous experiences .....you won't run over players .....you need to hit the holes / gaps

Makasini had a solid pre-season. That try where he barrelled over Edwards showed his pedigree and power.

He was an Australian Schoolboy and broke try-scoring records at Newington College in rugby.

The wider issue is how we develop our young talent. They need to be coached individually to build on their specific strengths. Makasini will be better for the experience next year after playing against men this year.

My concern is all the talent we’ve lost over the years due to poor coaching, board infighting and poor governance under HBG. We’re simply not a destination club, and we lose the juniors we try to develop.

He has heaps to learn ...both in attack and defence , I wouldn't be thinking of a permanent spot in our NRL backline at least until 2028 .....maybe longer

I will say u are right across the board , but if I was bula , and I really wanted to improve I would watch 4-5 other fullbacks , and try to improve my game , he could be a top fullback , if he just got of his arse and got more involved

I agree mate . He should be watching slater highlights flat out . And also David peachey as the peach most resembles him I believe .

I don't know, that all depends on how our squad and depth looks like next year. At the moment our depth looks like tissue paper in a cyclone.

I honestly think Makasini will be a star, he just needs the right coaches to mentor him.

Your a big Bula fan, can I ask you your opinion? Do you think Bula is a good defender? Im not talking bout his organising, im talking about his one on one battles when the opposition makw a break. I see many of hia critics saying he cant tackle and I am always scratching my head at that. I think he is exceptional when defending one on one. No one makes every tackle in that situation, but I find he makes more than I wpuld expect.

I think it depends on the game situation . I think if you’re talking inside ball to a 2v1 break away , he rarely makes the right choice there . And at times can look Darius Boyd levels bad . Which IMO is neither here nor there, as unless he screwed up and got his numbers wrong , that’s 💯 not his fault . But it looks ugly at times .
But if you’re talking on the line getting his hands underneath the ball and forcing the attacker to make 2 sometimes 3 extra efforts often leading to mistakes or being held up , especially in coverage , I honestly think he’s top 5 in the comp on that .
But I think people are hyper fixated on him now because he’s a 1mil player. They all turned on him , when his grub manager was doing Isaac Moses things , no matter how many times Bula came out and said he wanted to stay. As much of a grub Isaac is , at the end of the day he was just creating leverage , as that’s his job . And Bula wasn’t exactly helping him maximise that . I absolutely hate Isaac , but I did not understand where the hate came from .
And for those not in the know the reason Isaac is Bulas manager is the sheenius recommended him and made the introduction when Liam Ayoub went to the dogs board . Anyways I digress .

I don't agree with the word 'rush.' The only mistake we make is not nurturing and developing our juniors before they debut.

There's a difference, and that comes down to the club.

Can't remember the scoreline when Haywood played .....but way too early to debut in such a destabilised environment

Idk u cant ignore AD form before injury

There is two sides to that coin unfortunately. He was strong with the ball and was making,ost of pour plays and scoring most of our points off the back of some very effective defence, across the board. On the other side of the coin his running game and "I can do it" attitude meant that those outside him had limited opportunities.

While there were many singing AD's priases there was also a core that were concerned based on what he was producing. It did not take long for the rest of the NRL to wake up to AD; he is a one trick pony. His strength gets him by some of the time but a committed defence , and his injury, put that to bed pretty quickly.
