Sacking Scott Fulton, giving Benji full control and hanging your hat on a two faced Luai were all bad decisions., no matter what type of spin anyone wants to put on it.

We were 3rd after 8 rounds. Luai was in top form - the stats and results support this.

You are so harsh on richo, but those in ultimate power are let off Scott free.. if we wrote lists about who has done more wrong, hbg take the cake - by a distance.

When will you finally reveal your connection to them?

Nobody is being missed for making bad decisions, extending Benji to 2030 was an attrocious decision and as I previously stated, not a surprise from a board made up of many people who do not live and breathe rugby league.
Yes we were doing well up until round 9 with Luai mainly sitting on the sideline. He was barely contributing to our success at that time.
Would you want him with us for another 3 years?

If Luai didnt leave for PNG, we probably go close to making semi finals. Hindsight is a wonderful thing to say you dont want him.

I tell you who I dont want, i dont want hbg for another 3 milliseconds.

The proof is in the pudding, Luai sold out on the club.
Is that the type of character you want at the club on massive money long term?
I am not happy with the decision to extend Benji’s contract to 2030 myself, but I’m not convinced it would be an instant stop to bad decisions being made if we get private ownership.
I have no problem if we somehow get private ownership, but I won’t hold my breath waiting for no bad decisions being made if it was to happen.

If you really want to dive into why Luai became available for PNG, it comes down to HBG and their selfishness in pursuit of control.

Richo and Benji had Luai lined up to remove his exit clauses at the end of 2025. Had those clauses been removed, PNG couldn't have made an offer, Luai stays, and we’re likely pushing for a finals spot in 2026.

So why didn't he remove them? Simple: less than 12 months into his contract, HBG blew the club apart and pushed the CEO out.

In hindsight, Luai was completely justified in keeping those clauses in his contract. That isn't selling out on the club, that's smart, because it's only a matter of time before they stuff something else up.

I can confidently say that the coach at every club is responsible for those decisions but is limited by what they can spend within their cap just like Benji would be.
To suggest he was given free reign under Richardson is ludicrous.

The irony in you accusing others of making assumptions does not escape me.

I’ve seen a Craig Bellamy in where he stated he leaves the recruitment to their recruitment manager.

He’s simply not worth what we were paying him.

You dont necessarily need people who live and breathe league. They should part of the formula. We actually just need top level decision makers and networkers, not middle managers or small biz c-level.

Penrith have brandy, roosters have ricketson. RL experience is typically limited to 1 ex player, but international level players. Most of these for us are on the balmain side, so that may be fraught with issues.

Benji extension was a necessity after what they did. I dont think that was the problem. The precursor of blowing up the board, forcing them into that position was obvious to anyone with two braincells and is the real issue.

They're deadset dumb arses in an echo chamber and we need better.
