I guarantee Benji picks both in the 17.

You say we need the leadership and I agree, but 2 players that are only one year signings due to being so old is not the transition to a strong leadership we require. If we bring leaders in they need to be here and add value for at least 2 years, preferably 3. Im ok Frizell, he is playing strongly, but im not ok with Mann. I have been a huge Mann fan since he started first grade, rated him pound for pound the strongest in the comp. But I watched him closely once we were rumoured to be after him and he is shot. He was gassed early and his effort plays down.

Someone like Seyfarth will be left out of the team to accommodate an outside signing for just one year when Seyfarth would do a better job. Shocking recruitment

Averillo, 5 star signing imo
Versatile and can play any position, 1 to 6.
Hopefully the centre we've been desperately needing.

Brailey, good #14 for us - hooker/lock.
Gives Api a break too with a handy player to replace him with, allowing our younger 9s time to develop.

Kurt Mann, much like Brailey... a 14, 9, halves, backline utility. By all reports, tough as nails and will add some toughness to our team, both on the field and in preparation, I'd hope.

Frizzell, never been a big fan. Work horse player, hopefully he can be that Finucane influence I've been promoting. Add some class to our preparation work.

What's not to like?
 
Frizzell will be a starter for sure. Mann and Brailey will provide competent NRL experience on the bench. Averillo's a class signing.
The club is moving in the right direction and it's a huge step up from guys like Murray, Hope and Seyfarth who've all shown that on their best day they're just not up to it.
Add in guys like Roberts (who had no preseason this year and was always playing catch up) and Broederlow who I really expect to kick on and our forwards are looking good.

There was mention yesterday that Croker may be a possibility. If true, he would be up there as perhaps our best target together with Averillo. He's a smart footballer, a footballer's footballer, who can step, unload in traffic and defend. The perfect 13 allowing Twal back to the front row,
 
Benji and the club are doing exactly what they said they would and should be doing.

The start of the year showed our side can compete BUT when hit with a horror injury run to our top tier players, we lacked reliable, experienced back-ups and had to rely on inexperience in multiple positions. We have identified that as a weakness and have gone about addressing it with moneyball-style signings.

It's unlikely that Mann, Brailey or Frizell will be in the starting 13, but highly likely to all be on the bench (eg. Mann for Twal, Brailey for Api, Frizell for Pole) and ready to step in to cover injury.

I'm hearing there are two more signings in the works. One I assume is Frizell (probably not announced till after they're out of contention or win it all). The other won't be til Nov 1st which makes me feel it could be for 2028.

I see he's a bit bigger at 94kg but he's 36yo, I don't know paws if we land Frizell that would be another player over 35yo.
