At first glance, you think Kev will be a pure depth player, but when you see how much he improved throughout the year, why isn't he in with a chance. Interestingly, his best games came when he was filling in for Tedesco.

I can't understand this. Kevin is a reserve player at best.

At the start of the year I'd have agreed, but he did improve.

I see that, but not to the extent that he then becomes our starting fullback. No way in the world will I be able to watch Naiqama continually start throughout the season and still have hope to make the 8.

Yes he improved. But the bar was very low to start off with.
If APlayer with defence like Kevvies can make our firsts team, then we've got a few serious problem.
Kevvies terrible games far outweigh his very good games.

Naiqama was great in defence at the back against the Kiwis yesterday saved at lest 4 TRIES..

Maybe he should wear his Fiji Bati jersey underneath his Wests Tigers one…

Kevvie and Taanee will come back from the world cup much better players than before it may be the spark to bring the best out in Kevvie who has always shown potential.

We have gotta have a crack at least two of these three Poms:
prop: Alex Walmsley
centre: Kallum Watkins
winger: Ryan Hall

All 3 of them have always wanted to come down under, but no club have ever offered them a crack, so lets do it Tigers, dangle a Bus Ticket at them and lets see what happens.

I don't think we need more wingers or centres at the moment. We have a few backups already for those spots, good guys who deserve a chance.

I don't even think we need another second rower.

If someone of unquestionably high quality came along (an Angus Chrichton or a Dylan Napa, or a Nathan Cleary or a Michael Morgan), then of course Wests Tigers should throw our hat in the ring. But I don't think we need anyone else for right now, and we would be much better off conserving the rest of our cap, front end some contracts, waiting till next year and seeing how our troops go, then replace with extra funds in 2019 and 2020.

Best thing is I think Cleary agrees with me. Most of our signings are only on 2 year deals: (Brooks, Tui, Fonua, Milne, Liddle, McIlwrick, Rochow, Aloiai, Chee Kam, Eiso, Gamble) With another whole bunch on 1 year deals: (Sue, Grant, Naiqama, MWZ, Benji, Marsters, Felise). So we see how they go, and replace where necessary.

Very good times ahead.

Ryan and Kallum are a NO! we have too many Centers and Wingers at the moment. Ryan seems past his prime, while this can be good for defense its bad for a winger.

Alex is ok, but I would'nt rush to sign him. If we got Graham, I could see how making a Pom prop team could be very beneficial. We don't have Graham…. Stick with our current plan... Out of the three he is the one I would want.

Agreed elderslie tiger. Lets hope they "Gel" together if they start together. Playing together in an international environment can only be a good thing.

Hall shouldve come to Australia 5 years ago, but not now… Pass on the rest of the Poms for now,

I like the idea of chasing Dylan Napa though once his next contract comes up. He should be at his prime as a Prop and 2020 could see the decline in Packer or Matulino.

Napa & Twal from 2020 sound good!

I missed the second half of the season, and I only got to see Easts play in the knock out semi against the Cows. I was surprised at how ineffective Napa and JWH were. Napa was rubbish.

Was that a one-off poor performance, or is Napa a flat track bully ?

I thought Napa was better in 2016 than he was in 2017\. He's still young and has the goods. I'm sure he'll bounce back next year.

I reckon hall couldve chosen his club and named his price 5 yrs back…not anymore

Sea Eagles have today granted five-eighth Blake Green an immediate release from the final year of his contract. Via Dean Ritchie

Maybe confident of getting pearce

Reports also coming out that Pearce has requested a release.
So Manly upgrade Blake Green to Mitchell Pearce, and Easts upgrade Pearce to Cronk (also add Tedesco and possibly Crichton)
What are we doing wrong…

Very hard to gauge his 16 with 17 considering the far different team results in the years… He averaged 10min per game less in 2017 & I feel he is becoming more consistent in his performance.

Does his job as a Starting Prop and by the time 2020 comes around, he will have another 8-10 Origins under his belt.

We can't afford brown paper bags to put loads of cash in
