As i said, there's a difference between rumours about player signings and rumours about things that can potentially damage a club or player's reputation. Even if he was able to confirm it with his source, because there's nothing official, it would still be seen as an unsubstantiated rumour, as nothing has been made official. Then the forum runs the risk of becoming libel.

I'm not doubting…I just think it's worth putting it out there if it will stop the innuendo once and for all. Totally unfair on the player as inevitably, the longer the rumour goes on, some mud will always stick.
