Forget Hess ..what's more interesting is the internet battle between this Forgotten man and Ali's latest rumours..

The fight to rule the internet rumour mill and be 1st is on people…

What’s interesting is that Ali is posting a rumour about a current origin outside back joining the Tigers could we be looking at 2 incoming players? 31 into 30 doesn’t go so someone will be getting the tap….

Guess this would be Chambers, I thought he was closer to joining the Dragons

Walker would be handy and I've love to get rid of McQueen and free up 400k per season to try and lure Hess.

Agree on both points, Willow. Though I think it'll be rather difficult to find a club willing to take McQueen on. We'd probably have better luck trying to move someone like Elijah Taylor.

This is nothing against McQueen but who in their right mind would take him on after a serious neck injury and the form he showed last season for even half of what we have paid him

I imagine every club would have a McQueen or a similar situation …..we need to get over it and try and find a player who IS attractive on the player market who is surplus to our needs in 2019 to fill our shortfalls

I would like to think McQueen will be a lot better this year with a good off season under his belt & a bit of confidence, maybe we can show the bloke a bit of support, he certainly adds depth

Wouldn't be one person on this Forum who wouldn't want McQueen to find his 2012-2014 form

Would be a massive win for the club and would give us a real utility who can play centres /backrow off the bench if needed with SOO / big match experience

He has 400000 supporters from the club and has added depth in his pockets to hold the 400000

McQueen would be hard to move unless we paid a lot of freight. If we did then Souths or the Titans might be interested. Rochow would also be hard to move on unless he were prepared to go to Super League. Of those that might find themselves out of the top 17 this season it would probably be easiest to move ET (Warriors?) or Aloiai (Sharks?). MCK would probably also have takers but I think his ability to cover the backs might see him sneak into the 17\. Garner would not be worth releasing given his potential, his versatility and the relatively low salary he'd be on.

We really do have too many 2nd rowers in this squad…

The social media rumour in regards to an outside back is James Roberts. Even though there is mutal interest, i wouldn't read to much into it. Roberts has been looking for a way out since it became clear Bennett would no longer be around.

However, people close to Roberts don't want him back in Sydney due to this issues it has caused in the past. Also, Brisbane do not want to release him as he is on a fairly cheap deal for an origin player. If they did let him go, it is more likely he would end up at the Gold Coast.

Mail on Hess is off as far as i'm aware.

Nonsense.
No one externally knows how his neck is. You don't know, I don't know.
He is on 400K? a season. We would be lucky to punt him for 120K based of current form.
I would take the gamble unless we badly need the spot or someone offers overs.

He will either return to past form, sure maybe not 400K worth but close too.
OR he won't, I don't think anyone has made an offer for him.

Happy to trade, but I don't think we have received any offers or swaps. We definitely should not trade him for cheap value with us carrying the load!

So lets put him to the field. Lets make him go out there. I want to see the guy wearing the Jersey or submitting a medical retirement. He is back with McGuire who knows him well, Lets see him perform or retire.
Lets get our full money value.

I suppose we have to hope we can get walker over the line and get his signature. That will take us to the magic 30 and then hopefully a player or two will want to try their luck elsewhere opening up a couple of slots for opportune buys in the final player merry go round before season starts. I also feel as I said earlier Farah will retire before 30 June allowing WT to get the back up hooker for Liddlle. He will have played his 300th game before then and it will have given just that little extra time required for liddle to settle in to the full-time role. And,if liddle falls by the wayside yet again we know we need another 1st line hooked.

It’s called depth, get used to it - most clubs cruise through the premiership with it to keep the show on the road during an injury crisis, we can’t have 30 happy first graders and remain under the salary cap..

Shame, Roberts would be a great pick up.

No it's called an imbalanced squad. You need depth across all positions, not just the 2nd row. Particularly when running 80 minute edge forwards which we may do if we play Lawrence and Matterson. Too many positions occupied by 2nd rowers means not enough depth elsewhere - in our case outside backs. It also means a lot of salary cap space that's not running out in our 17 each week if we end up with players like McQueen and ET in reserve grade.

Not nearly as ridiculous as claiming Lawrence has always been an average player, even pre-hip injury.

He has had his fair share of incidents up in Brissy as well.

Ivan's roster management was a bit poor during his tenure. He did a lot of good in his short stint, but our current roster is a little out of wack. We only have 2 recognised hookers in our 30, we have 8 second rowers in Rowdy, MCK, Richie, Garner, McQueen, ET, Matterson and McIntyre. Who the hell needs 8 second rowers? Compare that to our back 5 and we only have 7 players with Mbye, Momo, Nofa, Mahe, Esan, Corey and Dylan Smith.

What was Ivan smoking?
