Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Lodge re-signs with donkeys for two years.

Nice, I think players that behave badly should be locked to the club that has them signed.

At least Lodge will be paying off his compensation to the US family he ruined. Suspect meds and drugs had something to do with it but farout. How is psychotic killer ok in League today?

Has anyone got anything more on whether or not we are chasing Robert Jennings from Souths. Still unsigned and unwanted by Wayne Bennett .. the clubs top try scorer for last season (2018) would be a bonus to any NRL club. I hope we are atleast in the market for him .. we need a finisher out wide.

Robert Jennings:
Height: 192 cm
Weight: 102 kg
Age: 22

His manager is asking 300k. Not that much but drop it down to200-250k.

He has height which we need on the flanks.

I would very happily sign him for $300k per season.

300k ain't too bad of an outlay for him imo

Agree $300k not a bad request from the bloke if true. A known name, good on field performance and no off field dramas- why not go for him?

300 k is only a good price if we have 300 k to spare in the cap , I can't see anyone coughing up any money for a TPA

Might have more than that if Musgrove gets punted.

By the time it actually makes it to court he will probably have a contract signed , sealed and delivered

Jennings is strong bringing the ball back but his acceleration is not great. AJ on the wing with real pace is who we need. There is next to no pace in the backline beside Mybe and Brooks.

As we must replace like with like, our first priority must be to sign props, remember that we lost Grant, Sue and now Musgrove!

Any ex pats in ESL possibly like a Sam Rapira etc …...they don't need to be superstars ....players who can play their role every week to a game plan and make their tackles

Except he wants to be paid like a fullback.

100%

Who cares what outside backs are available, if we are losing Musgrove we need to replace him.

Do we really need more prop forwards, surely this is enough? Packer, Matulino, Twal, Eisenhuth, Musgrove, Mikaele & Clark.

I'd be happy with Alex Johnston & Robert Jennings. Is it unrealistic to think we could afford both? I get we would potentially need to move someone on to fit two but again, that shouldn't be a showstopper

Another Knights signing today of Mann… I am a little confused as they had to pay overs for players and they are still signing.. They would have Pearse, Klemmer, Ponga, on big big money and we are a club with money and cannot sign a big name player.. Something does not add up to me.

They also have the beach and non Sydney lifestyle as an attraction. Additionally they are obviously forming a lopsided squad.

I still think the Knights lack depth.

Yes they signed Pearce, Klemmer, Ponga but who was their big-name player before that? Jarrod Mullen? Kurt Gidley?

The legit top-quality players (Klemmer, Pearce, Ponga, Ramien) they have were all signed for 2018 or 2019, so brand new - spending all the cap space they'd save. After that… Fitzgibbon, Ese'ese, Glasby, Edrick Lee - all decent players. And then? Nuffies galore, like the Tigers.

Alex Johnston & Robert Jennings - Both asking too much money

The Current issue under investigation is Just that. Just an allegation.

If the Zane Musgrave signing falls through, as it may, I wonder whether WT should make an offer to Ben Murdoch-Masala? I've seen a few of his games in ESL now and he certainly seems to have matured heaps over the raw product we saw at WT a few years ago

Has also matured around the midriff….too slow for the pace of NRL..

Still remember Anthony Minichiello pulling the ball out of his hands at LO when he was over the line.

Thought he was home, then as he went to put the ball down he realised he didn't have it. Look of astonishment on his face was priceless.

Big NO from me.
