Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

@Balmain_Boy JAC was sitting in the reserves while Rankin was picked ahead of him. Ramien starts every game for the Knights...

Hardly the same thing

@851 I'd say he's potentially the second-best centre in the comp behind Latrell. I'd definitely go for Ramien, he's all upside at this time.

Jesse Ramien wants out of the Knights. Could be a great addition to our pack for 2020.

If he wants out... I would be more than happy to have him at the tigers. Quality player. Showed it at the Sharks.

Tigers club may have leaked their interest in Api to the media on purpose. It’s a way of signalling a clubs interest in a player that doesn’t contravene the rules. Api now knows the Tigers serious interest and Manly may choose to promote Fainu to their number one hooker next season, allowing Api a release frees up some cap space and they can replace him with a cheaper second string hooker as back up. I imagine it would have a certain amount of appeal for Api to reunite with his former premiership winning coach.

@Balmain_Boy Fainu is looking like an excellent prospect at the moment, although I wasn’t aware of him being linked to the Tigers. Sounds like he’s off contract before Api though - I’d be happy with either. I’d still like the club to retain Liddle as one of the two hookers on the clubs roster, but there’s reports the Bulldogs are interested, if so they could offer the number one hooking spot with a matching salary. Which might be a better option for him than competing with another top line hooker at the Tigers (if we sign one). It’s a shame that injuries have cruelled Liddles progress, if he can overcome them I believe he’ll be a quality hooker.

Thoughts on George Burgess as a signing? DT article saying souths don't have the cap to re-sign him.

He's an upgrade on Packer & Mats, id happily swap out one of them for him. Dont know if we could afford George, Twal, Packer & Mats. One would need to be shifted i would think.

He's a bit lazy and error-prone, but at his best he's a very effective prop. And he has been at his best under Madge, so it's a worthwhile consideration.

Thoughts on Moeaki Fotuaika

Or would a signing like that be too close to the bone for him and the club

He looks the goods. I'd go for him if he was happy to go back to where his brother was. Maybe he's got relatives still down here?

From memory that was one of the issues for Mosese , he only had his pregnant partner

Lurker (I know) says we have Kurt Capewell and Jayden Brailey on our radar.

Jayden Brailey is under contract until the end of next year, Paul Kent said on 360 it was Blayke Brailey that we were linked to, but he has just re-signed with Cronulla for 3 years.

Absolutely! We'd be mad not to try and get him. We missed out on having Musgrove in the team and we will probably lose Chee Kam. Lawrence coming back is no great certainty and even if he does, he won't be the same player. We are perilously low on forward strength and our 2 well paid front rowers are mostly ineffective and bone lazy. An injury to Twal and we are cactus, we need another prop asap!

I hear that Burgess may end up going back to the ESL - come on Madge talk him out of it and get him over here!

Capewell is a depth player, nothing more.

Has been found out this year with the rookie (Nikora) being twice as effective as him
