Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Interestingly I’ve read a lot of posts this week of needing more pace and size in our backs (which I agree with).

However, DWZ becomes available who has both of those attributes and no one wants him. I’d take him in a heartbeat.

It’s his contract 700k which, is the problem. I’d take him if we can offload a player ie: Packer, ET, Reynolds.

Don't know if you read my other post but he is already having that regenerative knee therapy

That is a bad sign for a bloke who is 24 from memory

Is there any truth Penrith are making way for ET to return? Lads were talking about it at the Barber Shop today.

Never say never, but i believe they are after Danny Levi before June 30

Yeah Penrith major issue is not having a quality hooker

Or a quality 7 ??

DWZ is an immediate fullback upgrade on Mbye. If Penrith are tipping in a portion of his salary, then it makes sense.

Whether Penrith would be willing to negotiate with us is a different story though, as i'm sure there is still bad blood between the respective head offices.

DWZ is down on form but he's a souped up Corey Thompson and better than anything we have in 1-5. We'd be mad to not have a dip, but obviously the books will determine whether we can afford him or not.

Swap him for a player on the outer that Penrith may have an interest in. ET or Packer?

@TYGA lad what barber shop are you going to where people talk about Elijah Taylor? What other rumours did you hear at the barber? Sounds like an interesting place to get a haircut.

In the golden west today not my usual spot. Got to see a dozen Panthers home videos. My word they have problems.

I'd actually totally forgotten about that. It wouldn't surprise anyone that the two clubs most heavily exposed in the sex tapes scandal (Napa-Bulldogs and May-Panthers) are currently running last and third-last?

It doesn't take much to tip the applecart.

Also, if the bottom-placed side is trying to move players on mid-season, you certainly need to be cautious. Doesn't matter what you think you've seen on-field in recent seasons, you have to ask why this guy and why now?

It's not like it's the Roosters trying to offload Tedesco, because from the outside looking in, DWZ should be a key part of a Panthers resurrection, not a scapegoat.

@TYGA Yeah would depend on cost and whether he only wants to play fullback. He may well work out at fullback, but he'd also be a great option out wide.

I would imagine he is a done deal at Parra. You don’t ask for a release without having a signed deal elsewhere. As for us we need to move a couple of big contracts on as that is going to control what positions we need to recruit and what budget we have

@Abraham maybe it's about time we served a bit of mud at the panthers.....

Yeah sounds good

But let's get the right body first

Maloney or Tamou ...Whare perhaps .....

Somewhere in all this juggling of rosters we seem to be heading towards signing a back. Looks to be either DWZ or French. Depends which way either Parra or Penrith sort their signings. Would be good if we could include a swap for one of our 'not in coaches future plans' players.
