That cronulla mob amaze me, I heard on the radio yesterday that they had signed Ramien but the NRL wont register the contract till they offload someone.....is their policy buy buy and buy and worry about it later

Ramien is training with the Sharks and is living in Caringbah. Now that opens the door for another club to apply pressure on that rotten mob to release Xerri!

I cant see Xerri being released they are trying to offload Fifita,no way would i want him to come back here

Yeah I know but it would be fun to put the Sharks under pressure since they can't register the contract.

To get the players they want the sharks practically need to offload two of fifita, Moylan and dugan without paying a cent to any of them. They're already over the cap for next season and need to offload players just to sign ramien, mulitalo, Kennedy and possibly upgrade xerri.


Havent they resigned Kennedy? edit yes they extended him til end of 2020. I also thought Mulitalo was already under contract? I've mentioned it before but I'd happily take Sione Katoa off their hands

Katoa has been overtaken by Mulitalo and lost confidence. He would only block the progression of our younger players.

he wouldnt block anyone as he wouldnt get picked if he didnt deserve it. would be our quickest back by a mile, certainly worth a shot, particuarly if cronulla will pick up some of the tab

Looking at nsw cup stats Hiroti finished with most line breaks and tries from only 19 games. Haven’t seen much of him but that’s gotta be a good start, and only 20. Odd that Souths would release him.

Hopefully he’s not another Jennings.

The only reason Jennings looked good and scored so many tries last year was because he played outside Inglis.
Who wouldn’t look good with Inglis doing the hard yards and then passing it to someone to fall over the try line.

Chricton is quality, but would be a huge gamble. He is a rugby man at heart and maybe that is where he sees himself in the end. If he was not motivated every week for the Rorters, can you imagine him with us?

If Matto is to go, all I really want is Josh to be packaged with him. That would clear up some really nice cap space and then let Madge go into the market.

Mate, a dead dog is an improvement on Jennings. Nobody would take him, even if we offered to pay full freight.

Maybe we should try the dead dog.

He’s not worth what he’s being paid but I still have hope that Mbye will come good. He was really good for us in 2018.

@balmain-boy I agree. What I struggle with a bit is that with some of our young talent coming through, we can see they need more time but I think we could support them a bit better.

I realise there are only so many development contracts but we seem to hand them out to the next lot coming through in the hope they will be the goods and leave the ones we already have behind. Some take the opportunity with both hands but there are those who don’t always produce for whatever reason (living off reputation etc) and haven’t had to really fight for it.

We wonder then why the ones showing potential but have the will to succeed get snapped up.

Having been to most Flegg games last year and this year, looked at highlight clips from the net etc, how somebody like Felix Smith, Lee Silva, Scolari and others aren’t being encouraged coming through is puzzling. They have talent and even the mongrel but most importantly the will to succeed so we should be taking these things into account when deciding who needs more development support.

Hell, we might even have a better chance to hang onto them!
