Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It won’t happen but JWH would be awesome for us. We will have Aloiai, Twal, Mikaele, Garner in the pack next year - and a young hooker probably. Someone like JWH would be huge in teaching those guys how to be an aggressive forward. I like it but I’ve been around too long - it won’t happen!

Luciano Leilua is my opinion is the next BMM /Bronson Harrison in my opinion

Do you mean that in a good way?

NO

He reminds me of this fishing spot I found .....for every reason I can imagine it should be great ...but I never catch fish there ...and I've tried it on every tide .....every new moon ...full moon etc top bottom run in run out

He looked great in the juniors .....I had him in a fantasy side as a 1st pick a few years ago ...just going nowhere fast

Thank God. I thought you rated them for a sec.

Leilua would be a massive downgrade from Matterson. We need to aim much higher than a young big guy with potential in exchange for a fringe origin player

I dont like the talk of JWH.

Roosters are the smartest team in the NRL. They spend their money wisely and they dont pay over for old players.

Hargraves's best years are behind him. He is being moved on by a club that doesnt lose good players they want.

Just more of the same if we end up signing him. Over paid and best years behind him.

Hardly a way to build a future.

Anyhow there is so much crap out there with the signing deadline approaching. i think ill just wait to see who we actually sign.

I can cop him on two years. We certainly aren't going to get him in his prime but I guess the question we need to ask is a JWH who is still playing well better than investing elsewhere. He comes here for a couple of years and makes us competitive and we make the finals all of a sudden you start looking like a viable destination to other talented players. They will invariably go where the money is but if you're talking the difference of $20-30K to play at a struggling club versus a club that is a bona fide premiership threat, most players will take the paycut to get the glory.

**he has treated this club with an arrogance since he first played us.** I fail to see how he would suddenly buy into our in his mind 'lesser culture'

How so?

Have you not watched him against us. He lines us up as his team to score a try against, usually does. He just tucks it and runs hard at our line. Torments Luke Brooks etc.

Great player for the Roosters against us. Up there with the likes of Gasnier and Takarangi who save their best for us

He pretty much plays like that against every opposing team, we just allow him to dominate more often than some of the others.

Leiluia is really young but has shown plenty of potential. A coach like Madge could get the best out of him just like he's done with Aloiai. He wouldn't be a like for like Matteraon replacement as they would be on pretty different pay packets.

IF we can get Leiluia and Lomax from Illawarra that would be an outstanding outcome. Brimson as well.

JWH had a long spell of being really, really average prior to last season.

I'd steer clear, his decent form won't last long and he certainly won't bring it here.

Jesse Arthars just signed with the Broncos. We should've made a play for him, quality young outside back.

Not sure why he'd go there with all their depth, but we should look at some of their up and comers ie Coates, Palasia, Farnworth...

Bit unfair on Bronson, didnt he play lik 18 Tests for NZ? Not his fault Sheens played him as a prop which was beyond ridiculous

Plus we couldn't afford the penalties - he gives away 3-4 per game at the Rorters, it would be at least double if he was playing for us. Try and win giving 6-8 penalties away per game plus the others we give away.

We wouldn't even finish 9th.
