Adam Douehi is worth no more than 400k, BJ 450k. You could justify 50k more at a stretch.
Not a chance you take either on back ended inflated contracts. If we are talking 600k + walk away now.

I like both but the club has to be sensible and not get desperate. It’s how we ended up with Reynolds, Mbye, Packer on big money.

450k for BJ? Lol. I mean yeah if you could. But you can’t. His metric value is closer to 700k. So yeah 450k won’t happen BUT how good is blind impressions of ones worth

Raiders signed Curtis Scott on a 4 year deal at 400k p.a. He’s 22 and a better centre ask Ricky.
>

IMO Curtis Scott is not a better centre than BJ and there is no evidence that Ricky thinks he is better. Clearly Ricky thinks he is better *value* but that is an entirely different thing including his age and salary cap space over time. Also I doubt Scott is on $400K

I think Scott is more consistent than Leilua

Scott may not have the highs of Leilua , but he doesn't have the shockers that Leilua has either

Scott is the centre we should have purchased. I cannot believe our club is seriously entertaining JL. This must be an all time low. I really question the direction our club is heading if he is
signed

What has Scott shown apart from walloping Dylan Walker? (which is highly commendable by the way). Pretty much zilch. Leilua is twice the player Curtis Scott is. I know which one I'd rather see pull on the WT jersey.

NRL physio reporting Billy Smith has indeed done his ACL, and the opposite one that he did in 2018. Would need a reconstruction and looking at 2021 return.

Well that now has the Rorters back in the market for a centre .. if we don't play our cards correctly here BJ could end up back at the Rorters .. !!

That's a shame for Billy. He is a gun player.

We don't need BJ - Tommy Talau, Momo and MBye can all fill the breach & do a good job. Wilson, Riszk will also come through over the next season or so.

What are the key spots we need to fill? I think Nofa and Jennings (who looks much fitter) can fill the wing spots well this year and I still like Corey at FB. For me with Benji getting on and maybe prone to injury 5/8th is our weakness despite recruiting Walters but hope he proves me wrong. We also lack a genuine hooker and ball playing forward. These are the areas we should be targeting.

But you think we are ok at fullback with Corey, we are a long way from ok with him there and bye the looks of it so does the coach

Pretty sure it wasn't a try in the end.
Keith Lulia scored 4 tries in a game for us once too.........
BJ is a much better player that Curtis Scott.

Star Eels forward Shaun Lane is considering a move away from the club after failing to agree to terms on a new deal.

According to a report by The Sydney Morning Herald, Lane will hold meetings with rival clubs over the next fortnight.

Off contract 2020 would be a hand pick up to replace McQueen/Lawrence /ET

If you don’t put a name next to the numbers it makes for good reading too. Surprises a lot of people.

Do player agents have access to use during negotiations.
Who has been the biggest surprise in their numbers that you have done

Not via myself, can’t speak for everyone who does it. Clubs tend to keep the info close to their chests.

Biggest surprise? As in under value or over value?

Both. Just curious

Well if you **believe media numbers tigers hold 3 of the worst contracts ever (mbye,Reynolds,Packer) other clubs in recent times parker for manly is a undervalued player who rates highly Dylan Edwards is Hugh as a fullback as well If your going back a few years jordan rapana was always one who always out performed his value. Curtis rona another one. Actually If you didn’t have a name next to their numbers in 2015/16 you would of ranked them in the top 4 wingers in the game.

?

Curtis Rona? Did somebody say KFC?

Just walked past Adam Doueihi at Entertainment Quarter. Was going to ask him how negotiations were going but he put his phone to his ear. It kinda looked like he saw me in my tigers cap and grabbed his phone to avoid an awkward conversation. Can’t blame him for that.

Let’s say we do loose Reynolds...fine good thing we bought Walters as our backup, but if we were to manage some key singings our off season good look extremely successful
FB douehi
Wing JAC
Centre BJ
Half Walters
Edge big Lucy
Middles Musgrove and Stefano

Plz Pascoe make it happen pleasssseee

I’m glad your not managing the salary cap as that’s a mighty expensive BJ. The Metric Value of A BJ depends on the technique.

He’s a good player, I rate him but at those dollars it would be as bad as Reynolds. You don’t pay that sort of money for a centre known for inconsistent play. It would undo all the work Madge has undertaken for short term gain. When we lose a young player that comes through we will regret the expensive BJ.

His metric value has nothing to do with what he will or won’t be paid, it’s used as a guide to avoid bad contracts And find good contracts. MOST** clubs these days have full time employees dedicated to it. The rest hire a third party (Like me) to Accumulate the data for them and liased with their recruitment department about their current contracted players values, their up coming contracts and extensions and off contract players for the next 2 seasons At other clubs.

Seems that’s where it all starts. At the valuation process. Appears to me a club can sink or swim on the accuracy of those vals and the recruiters ability to recognise any bias for what it is?

Some clubs at times can’t “avoid” a bad contract. Depends on the need and a players demand, that’s usually the mix for a bad deal.

I gave mr Pascoe my advice on latrells worth analytically, everyone was paying overs. Tigers were going to pay about 1.7x his actual value. So upside is they didn’t get stuck on that deal.

No they didnt get stuck, resulting in fewer people with regret.

Was a little excited early in the week with the rumours of AD and JL joining us but with this Josh R stuff and other clubs interested in them I am back to losing faith.... I will just keep hitting f5 for updates and hope for the best.. :disappointed: :disappointed:

Leilua is looking closer to being a Tiger, no official offer but prepared to pay $500,000 over 3 years.
Douhei is keen & so is Madge, as been said before major sticking point is what Souths will put in. They don’t want to cover anything & we refuse to pay all or his 2021 wage. So that could hit a stalemate.

Thanks for your info. If Doueihi does not eventuate, do we have other players that we are targeting to play fullback for us in 2020.

If he doesn’t sign on, they’ll stay with Thompson for start of the year & wait time see if someone worthy of chasing gets itchy feet throughout the year.

That rarely happens...and the season will be shot again. Cory under the high ball with the new rules, geez....

Douehei is going to be very good IMO, covers multiple spots and kicks goals.

Only we can mess this stuff up. Watch the Storm grab him and he becomes a star.

I really do think we need to just pull the trigger here. No point being cute for $100k. He'll make a big difference to us.

The extra money is worth just based on the fact HE CAN CONVERT TRIES.

Momo is unreliable even with chip overs. Mbye unreliable.

We have had no legit goal kicker for 4 years. The only club not to have one.

How on earth we are not rushing to sign a legit first grader, who wants to come, who covers ALL the positions we need...and kicks goals...I just don't know.

Now get serious EH.

In his NRL career he has kicked 10 goals.

2018 - 9 goals at 60%
2019 - 1 goal at 100%

He may end up being the greatest goal kicker of all time but...

For these statistics you rubbish Momo and call him unreliable.

2018 - 0 goals at 0%
2019 - 21 goals at 75%

Yeah! AD kicks goals but not as good as what we have.

I would love to have him with us, but I don't necessarily think he would be our GK.

Just read this on Fox sports...

"Doueihi wants a four-year deal. At the moment the Tigers are only prepared to offer three years.
As for Leilua, sure he’s an impulsive hothead who can be diamonds one day and stones the next.
But as Jack Gibson famously said: “We don’t want choir boys”.
So what’s the hold up with Leilua?
The Radiers centre wants $600,000 for next year and 2022.
The Tigers are only prepared to offer him $500,00 per season.
Yet they pick him up for the bargain price of $350,000 for this year, with the Raiders chipping in a similar amount.
From an outside perspective, it looks a simple negotiation.
Trouble is, the Tigers have been making the simple look like four-unit Algebra for way too long now. "

This needs to be sorted ASAP for me as we are in the media again for the wrong reason and this has to be impacting our Brand...
My thoughts on this - Yes just sign JL as its only for 2 years and he will put everything in especially with his brother here..
I can understand the Tigers are concerned about a 4 year deal for a young guy with ACL injury and not proven... Hard one but need to do something..
