Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just read this on Fox sports...

"Doueihi wants a four-year deal. At the moment the Tigers are only prepared to offer three years.
As for Leilua, sure he’s an impulsive hothead who can be diamonds one day and stones the next.
But as Jack Gibson famously said: “We don’t want choir boys”.
So what’s the hold up with Leilua?
The Radiers centre wants $600,000 for next year and 2022.
The Tigers are only prepared to offer him $500,00 per season.
Yet they pick him up for the bargain price of $350,000 for this year, with the Raiders chipping in a similar amount.
From an outside perspective, it looks a simple negotiation.
Trouble is, the Tigers have been making the simple look like four-unit Algebra for way too long now. "

This needs to be sorted ASAP for me as we are in the media again for the wrong reason and this has to be impacting our Brand...
My thoughts on this - Yes just sign JL as its only for 2 years and he will put everything in especially with his brother here..
I can understand the Tigers are concerned about a 4 year deal for a young guy with ACL injury and not proven... Hard one but need to do something..

Why don’t they offer him a 2+2club option. Something I learned years ago from a human resource scientist, always incentivise an employment contract. Not doing so leads to comfort, comfort leads to mediocrity.

Four years .... right! Imagine he ends up A DUD and we are stuck for that period playing him in cc at that price.
With BJ if the figures are right we are arguing about minor detail as we pick him up at $350k for this year. So it’s a yes from my end.

Isn't that 3 years? As you said, I'm happy with a two year contract...

I liked Hoops on TV, but these comments speak of headline grabbing by a guy who is short of stories to print.Calling the Tigers a basket case is absurd and not helping the club. Yes it was true when the NRL appointed dick heads like Taylor and co.but not anymore. I think the board and coach are doing a great job and not listen to whingers is to their credit. Some of the comments posted here are great but some are from idiots.

3 years or 4, this needs to be bought to a head and soon. If this is just another example of our used by a prospective signing as a bargaining chip, we really need to get out of this asap so we can focus on other guys (assuming there are any left) who might like to join us and who would improve our team.

This is driving fans crazy. Not so long ago we heard that the Doehi was held up because Wests tigers would not oblige Souths the extra money they wanted. Now we hear that Doehi wants four years but WT are only prepared to give five. We also hear that Leliua wants $500,00 a season but WT are only prepared to give him $500,000. Where all this will end is anybody's guess. to top things off we here that Reynolds having played only a handful of games over two years at at least $600,00 a years very unlikely to play for Wests tigers this year if at all.

All that on top of the wasteful time spent on chasing Latrell Mitchell (where ironically the WEsts tigers offered him well overs) and the Wests Tigers could be excused for asking "Where will this all end."

Come on Tigers, get them both! 3 years, 4 years, whatever. Is it really worth losing them over it? Put in KPIs or something.

Souths got LM on a 2 year deal, with the second being optional in Their favour?!? Surely we can sort these deals...

Last year the tigers had Reynolds injured most of the year, best 2 front rowers injured for most of the year and we just missed the eight. Most clubs would not have done so well.If the tigers were a basket case what were the sides that finished behind us ?Bad signings are behind us along with previous bad coaches and admin staff and the future is bright.Buck up fans this will be the start of a new era.

Signings are imminent now
Dominoes are about to fall
All hell is going to break loose
Any minute now
Another 48 hours and we will know
Breaking news
News flash
Just in
Big moves
Some minor details to sort
Its a done deal
We just snared someone
He is in the bag
He will be at training on Monday

What will be will be
After weeks of speculation we must be real close to signing a couple of players
We need 3 players to fill our 30 so we may as well spend every cent we have now
Who knows what next year will bring but no point worrying about that
I would be very happy with AD and BJ
If we have the Money spend it
Keep $200,000 for Stefano if he should come
Next year is a whole new kettle of fish
We release those that are not performing

One thing is for sure and that is we are all definitely holding our breath for a signing
It's kind of exciting and frustrating rolled into one

Bring on 2020
And not cricket

Wests Tigers lost signing Mitchell who went to the Rabbits. Now Roosters have lost their centre Smith and are ready to swoop on Douehi. Wake up Wests Tigers and show that you can sign a quality player which each of Leilulia and Doehi are. Time waits for no one.

Positivity wins over negativity which unfortunately has become the Wests tigers trademark. It starts from the top.

This has become very negative, Tigers are now becoming the laughing stock of the comp,AGAIN. Players out there but because we made some bad calls , now we won’t make any calls. We were willing to pay well over for LM, but refuse to buy two players for nearly the same price as we were going to give LM. Don’t get it. We will end up with money in are pocket and no players. GOOD CALL TIGERS

Very Tigers like thing to happen.

lol so much doom and gloom. We already know every player we have a ref too. We know we will probably sit with them all too. What nobody has a clue about is money contract l;length etc. You either trust madge to get it done or u dont. If you dont well you have a long time to rectify it or get off the bus as they say.

Also its great we are taking time and not rushing in i for one am very proud of a harder stance.

Distinct possibility!

I thought Xerri was their target

The hysteria on here never ceases to amaze me!

It wasn't that long ago that information was flowing from the club like a leaky boat in the Potter and Taylor era's. Now the ship is locked up tight, no information comes out except for a couple of cooperative journalists. So most of the reporters make stuff up about Wests Tigers and yet people here continue to believe it.

How on earth would Hooper know anything about contract negotiation in Wests Tigers? He has been an outcast for some time now and as such he holds a grudge. He has been caught out numerous times yet it looks like everyone still accepts what he writes as gospel.

Mitchell always wanted to go to Souths. Its a club his father supported all his life. You can only make your best offer, and there is no shame in the offer not being accepted. I would be cautious as to how much WT are prepared to pay for AD, and I would not like to see them offer too many years for BJ either. But I believe we are well positioned for both.

As for the Roosters poaching AD, how could they have the funds available when they only lost their centre 30 hours ago? Doesn't dispensation have to be submitted and approved by the NRL?
