We have to applaud Madge. Souths want AD off their books. He simply isn’t going to play first grade. All clubs would expect them to at least contribute 100k for each year or they can have a 600k reserve grader

Is he really looking this good ? I haven't watched him enough to state this. It's a big call. Is he going to give Tedesco, Ponga and RTS a run next year if he plays fullback ? Is he potentially that good ?

Tedesco is the best in the NRL
And imo the best ever behind Slater.

AD is young and can achieve anything.

He wont play reggies, he will be their 14 and an excellent one.

I am a big Madge fan, but recruitment is his weakness.

Crowe and Richo recruited South stars.

Madge not budging so far has got us what? The weakest 1-5 in the comp. Not a single back added to last year's weak backline that lacked pace and strike, Fonua and Esan gone, Benji at 35 expected to play every week. No pace, no strike, no first string kicker.

Madge's rhetoric sounds nice, but reality is different.

It doesn't sound that way does it. It sounds like it's Souths or us and there is a high likelihood he will be playing reserve grade all next year if he stays at Souths.

So if Paul Crawley is on the money and we don’t sign AD, understanding that we are most likely to start with Corey at the back for 2020, does anybody know of a quality fullback that is either in reserves or whose contract is due? And who would you buy?

I know of Sean Meaney and Bubba Kennedy

Fullbacks or players that can at a stretch play full back that are off contract at the end of this year:

Boyd, Kahu, Milford, Wighton, Edwards and Johnston are the only tried NRL players available.

Apart from Boyd, who is too old, no matter what you think of him - the others are very ordinary Full Backs.

Now, tell me Adam Doueihi is not worth the money or not good enough or that we are also happy to have Thommo or Mbye as the FB for 2021.

Cause I AM NOT!!!!!

Sign AD and be done with it for God's sake.

I'm not 100% convince that Doueihi is a better fullback than Mbye.

You can't be serious. He would not have made a ""massive"" difference. Did you check out the head to head stats that CB posted on (I think) page P2611 re CT and AD ?

At best AD is a minor upgrade on CT at full back. AD adds a ball playing option and a kicking option. CT is a superior ball runner and defender (based on tackles missed).

If AD wants $600k next year and a four year deal, then I can understand why we have walked away.

So many people on here underestimate how good the kid is.

Playing great footy in CC for Souths. A player who isn’t going to get a start in first grade at his current club isn’t worth 500k.
