If Grant rumor is true, we still need 2 aggressive big props, one will be Utoikamanu, the other one must be an experienced player, e.g. 26-30:
Alex Walmsley - 196cm, 115kg, 29yrs
Agnetious Paasi (from Warriors) - 183cm, 114kg, 28 yrs
Ryan James - 191cm, 121kg, 28yrs

Which props would you push out of the current side?

Imagine Mikaele, Twal and Musgrove wouldn't be going anywhere.

No Aloiai and Clark? Twal to lock?

Uto is a definite starter in 2021. Some interesting choices will need to be made at the time.

Don’t see our forward pack changing unless someone breaks their contract and leaves. Our current pack plus Utoikamanu should be good, maybe sign a few depth forwards

We have several big aggressive props. Mikaele and Musgrove for starters.

Etu Lui in Flegg is very promising too.

You can't have 5 aggressive props ion you squad - you need balance. Stefano seems to be a mix of big and aggreseive and workhorse/

Don't think we need any more props myself.

Walmsley will be 31 after 3 games if we signed him for 2021 - too old.

James with multiple ACL injuries - wouldn't touch with a barge poll.

Paasi imo isn't much better if at all - than the 6 props we already have.

Our prop stable is pretty good, especially with the addition of Uto next year.

Hope LL and Garner can rip it up at 2nd row in 2020.

I would prefer to move Eiso and ET on at the end of 2020 and invest in a proven top 5 lock (if available).

Can't see us needing 2 props.
Back row depth is required once mqueen and rowdy retire. I guess within it could be johns unless it's just hype. Seyfarth by all reports is a middle player as is aloia. Mck will only ever be a fill in imo

Ive said it a few times now, I think this pack will surprise people. Add Seyfarth who looks a Gallen clone and the big kid from the Eels and we will be set.

We really need a 5/8 imo.

Thanks for your reply.
my proposal:
8 Twal
9 Grant
10 Musgrave
11 Aloiai
12 Garner
13 L Lailua

14 Mikaele
15 Utoikamanu
16 Chee-Kam
17 Walmsley/Paasi/James

Seyfarth is not a Gallen clone. Not even close. Doesn't have the leg drive or aggression, and is very tall and slim where Gallen was short and stocky.

He's more like a cross between Eisenhuth and ET.

I'd buy Ryan James if I was a bit desperate for size, on a reduced contract. Sort of a Sam McKendry type scenario.

I don't think we are desperate for size. Rusty Packer won't even get a run in the first-choice team and he's hardly a spent force or minnow.

Could Twal with his big motor play lock. Lock is now a third prop.

Imo no
Locks need to be able to pass well unless you can run over people like jt.

Aloiai can't pass and he's played a bit of lock. Depends on the team structure. Your need at least 4 players in your on field lineup that can pass. If you have a running fullback then you need another ballplayer as three others are usually the rest of your spine.
Backrowers are a bonus.

Would Leilua come under that category?

Luciano Leilua has silky hands. Easily the best hands out of any of our forwards

James is cooked I think. Heading into his twilight and has had a few injuries.

Now that I think of it, kind of wish we nabbed Philip Sami, more skilful than Nofoaluma and in a similar clone to Rapana, would of been absolutely lethal outside of BJ.

Sami is a great winger, I was really disappointed when we missed out - A hungry winger always looking for involvement - would have been awesome with all the skills and pace to burn

Russ is definitely spent.
