Might be wrong about this but can't recall us having any joy out of any RU players we/ve signed over the years. Last one I recall was a Sevens guy we signed a few seasons back, played a few reserve grade games without any real distinction then went back to Rugby and represented Australia in international Rugby Sevens. Quade might be good for a short term deal but he's no spring chicken any more.

John Grant was spectacular for us.

James Grant was RU who played for Balmain in GF.


Pretty sure BalmainJnr was talking about John Grant, the RU convert (who I think was related to James Grant) who languished in reggies a few years ago. Big and fast but never got a go. Coincidentally John Grant is my best mates PT and he shares some very unflattering stories of coaching staff at that time as well as Robbie Farah.

As much as I love Robbie as a player , these stories have come out so many times ....you can't question it anymore

What you say could be true happy but it is also possible that J Grant was told to work on areas of his game but didnt satisfy the coach.Blaming Robbie for everything that happened at the club is a very easy option but i doubt if he was always the problem

Sounds like Robbie to me. Great player but big ego and was pretty much running the club for a bit there

Please. John Grant, the reason you did not make fg is because of you. Robbie may not of liked you but apparently according to others he was mean to them too...Mitchell moses said that . I'm starting to suspect Farah was sick of losing but others did not like the desire to do better.

Not at all putting boot into Farah but it surely must play with your mind some times when you devote all your professional playing life to a club, yes getting well paid, but not getting the regular finals appearances which others did in other teams. I applaud him for his passion for the game and love the Wests Tigers but am a bit sad his best was at a time the club and team were unable to rise to the occassion on a regular basis, no matter what effort he and a few others put in on and off the field. Kind of wish in someway he was at his peak now..

I'm just judging it on he was the problem so we got rid of him. The guys that complained about him lead us to the bottom 8. And then they went to the roosters, eels, dogs ..sharks etc. We got rid of him because of complaints he was the problem but the problem (being an below average footy team) remained. A group of people can be the real problem not the one they point at

I thought Robbie was at his peak around 2010-11 when the team was close to winning the comp. I really thought that there was nothing between Robbie and Cameron Smith at that time. Robbie continued to be a high quality player, but I think Smith took his game to the next level.
