Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Evwryone seems to be ignoring the effect living in the bubble will have one players and will have a very different effect on different players depending on their situation. Now I dont know any of them but you can be sure players at all clubs are being effectes by this. So im not saying its de iding which teams are winning but wpuld be effecting who is in form and who is struggling this year at all clubs

Titans have ruled out move for Mbye, which is not surprising.hate to say it but we are stuck with him for the remainder of his contract. There will be no takers even if we pay half.

Try him in the halves imo. He’s fast with a good passing game. With the right coaching I think he could be a quality match for brooks.

Playing him at 6 for next season is actually a pretty decent option I reckon. No idea how good his kicking game is though

Lets not roll the dice next season with positional changes.

Do it this year as it can't get anyworse as it is. It's likely we won't have much to play for anyway.

Everyone has being saying he's a running 6 for years, the only CLOWNS that don't get it are the ones running the show. He'll, I even believe with his leg speed, handling and ability to chime in, he could be a handy 1.

Joey Johns suggests the Dogs recruit Mbye to partner Foran in the halves next year as a running 5/8. Particularly if the Tigers are going to pay half his wages.

Maybe the Tigers should try Brooks and Mbye in the halves, got nothing to lose. If it works out ok then the club can retire Benji and try and offload JRey.

I actually think that’s the only option left for us to try and get some value out of him. I always thought he was a much better half than Reynolds when they were both at the dogs.

Didn’t Hollbrook, state this the other day? Or is this a more inside word?

He said they probably won't have enough money to sign Mbye. I say give him to them for free.

They just signed Fifita for a squillion, he is basically soaking up the contracts of 2 or 3 players.
Give them Mbye as a gift, we'd be out of pocket for next year but at least we wouldn't be paying the bludger $900k to do bugger-all in 2022.

I’ve suggested Brooks could be moved on as the most attractive option to free cap space.
Mutually beneficial for both.

Who do we replace him with you ask?
Can’t get a half for the same money you say.

That may be true but in an adjacent conversation we are constantly talking about how Doueihi isn’t a fullback and would be better suited at five eight.

Whose currently playing in the five eight position?

As some mentioned Madden or Flanagan but all in all replace him with a halfback and buy a specialist fullback.

I think Barrett could do wonders with Brooks.

Why can't we do wonders with Brooks?

Cleary could. What you have written seems to concede we have a coaching issue.

There are no bad soldiers, only bad leaders.

He needs someone that can give him that confidence. Believes in his ability.
I’m not even sure Cleary did. Remember from the moment we signed Cleary there was talk of him wanting his Son to play for him. Maybe that challenge spurred Brooks on, who knows.

Cleary got him playing outstandingly well.

We also had forwards who were willing to, or could offload.

Cleary Jnr and Brooks would have made an outstanding combination.

We cannot afford to lose another player of Brooks' calibre.

If the current coach can't get the best from him, that is where the issue starts and ends.

Don’t forget that Brooks was our player of the year last season playing under Madge. Considering he did well I doubt Madge would’ve changed much of his game in the off season. Sometimes it has to go down to the player - maybe the break and the early injury and the whole COVID thing has affected him too.

It’s up to the coach to figure out how to fix it though and he’s trying, hopefully he has a good game against the doggies and he builds some confidence.

Bring in specialist coaching like the other clubs. Moses has Johns, Papenhuyzen has Slater, is Cronk helping Flanagan? Put egos aside and provide the specialist coaching required.

He’s out of form . Every player goes through it . Despite the constant bagging he gets , this is his actual first time . He’s always been dangerous , just now the defence has him worked out .
He needs a centre that can hit a hole , or a backrower . Eg. Garner . Luci is awesome ,but he needs a few seconds to wind up . So you need a hole runner on his outside . Or Douehi needs to fix his legs , as it has caused him to lose his burst this year . He definitely had it last year , he’s just carrying a injury , or 2

Didn't Daley get knocked back due to conflict of interests with a sponsor or something?
