Are any of Penrith bench forwards on the market? They leave the big plodder Tamou well behind in making metres. How good are there post contact metres which we sadly lack.

I read Hetherington has interest from the Warriors. That's a train wreck we should get on board. He would be our train wreck and our player to mould "Maguire style'.

i watched an interview where he recognised he needed to tone down his play. i thought don't do that son! You don't play him, you unleash him in short bursts; challenge him to meet targets. If one if those targets happens to have a prominent chin well so be it.

Yeah not saving a lot of dollars but at least frees up a roster spot which has apparently been one of our issues in securing other signings.

His other front row partner Leota looks outstanding.. Anyway will trust Madge and the team..

He is a bench prop only and certainly not what we need.We need a 50- 60 minute leader on the field and he is not that.

Too late now but we should have thrown big money at JWH when he was off contract. That is the sort of player we need to guide our forwards for the next couple of years. No idea where we can get someone like that now.

HASTINGS EYES CODE SWITCH

Reigning Super League player of the year Jackson Hastings could make a shock switch to rugby with the Great Britain international in discussions to defect to the 15-man game. Hastings has opted against taking up the second year of his deal after having a favour his way to play another season at Wigan. Hastings has been targeted by a host of European rugby clubs, having joined Wigan this year after picking up the Man of Steel award and leading Salford to an unlikely grand final last year.

But Hastings’ Wigan stint is expected to last one year with plans for the 24-year-old to move on at season’s end. He will also explore the prospect of returning to the NRL.

If Hastings does leave, Wigan may make a play for Parramatta half Jai Field. Field was set to join Leeds this off-season before a deal fell through. Wigan are keen on Field who gets his chance in the halves again as a replacement for Dylan Brown on Sunday.

The appearance is critical for Field and Wigan as he needs more games to be eligible to sign with a Super League club. Field only joined the Eels on a one-year development contract but is now crucial to their premiership quest. **Wigan are also among the clubs keen on Josh Reynolds if Bevan French returns home at season’s end**.

I'd be tempted to take Bevan French (at a low cost) just so we could release Reynolds. We won't gain a spot in the top 28/30, but we will get some more salary cap to play with
