I'd be tempted to take Bevan French (at a low cost) just so we could release Reynolds. We won't gain a spot in the top 28/30, but we will get some more salary cap to play with

Haha was thinking the same thing

Definitely worth looking at. He was never that bad at Parra and has excelled in SL. His try scoring stats are pretty good - 35 tries in 47 matches for Parra and 11 tries form 16 matches at Wigan. Would only take him as a winger and backup FB though which might be a problem as he now sees himself as either a 5/8 or FB.

The pom mentioned dragons are interested in packer and had a agreed to how much of his salary we were going to pay so hopefully that comes true

Believe it when I see it. I can't see any club being silly enough to take either Packer or Reynolds. Reynolds may have an opportunity OS but apparently wants to stay here.

The deal was in exchange for Saab. A heavily subsidised Packer in exchange for a fringe first grader whom does not wish to be there could be attractive. Packer has plenty to offer and is returning to his old club.

A heavily subsidised Reynolds to a club seeking a half for a really good up and comer would be a good outcome for WTs and Reynolds.

Daily Telegraoh reporting this morning that Saab could be used as part of a swap transfer deal between Manly and Dragons for Manly's goal kicking winger.

Does McQueen leaving now really do anything for our cap?

Yes.
Not that he was on big $$$ BUT his leaving frees up a spot in the squad - that we were lacking to bring someone else in.

Dragons have a great goalkicker in Lomax. They also have two big handy wingers.

Garrick was originally from Dragons too so that would make sense.

But his off contract this year and season over.???

If it was a mutual decision they may have agreed a payout, or immediate start with new club. This may have freed up some $$$ to forward pay someone else

Bring 50 grand forward to frontload on someone else. Not much but it helps.

even more so if we end up with only 28 spots in the squad as is being discussed currently.....

Not sure if it's just me but I'm pretty ticked off that he has sat in reserves on a good wage for the best part of three seasons and then with a few weeks to go asks to be released because it works for him.

I get that he's entitled to the salary as it's the contract he signed etc, just annoyed that it's been fine to sit on good coin for near on three years and not explore opportunity elsewhere and now with two months left to run he says "oh yeah, it works for me to not be here now, can I have a release?"

I'll be so disappointed if we sign Tamau. Surely Proctor is a far better option. Proctor looked great this year. Tamau is same old signing last ten years. Hope that rumour is just that, a rumour. If we sign both, sure. That will be OK.

I don't want either.
