Sika Manu

I think it's crazy for people to say they wouldn't sign Manu because of Adam Blair. They're two different people… It's like knocking back Cooper Cronk because Dane Chisolm hasn't worked out.

Agreed, I'd take Manu in a heartbeat. I was more impressed with Manu than Blair when they were both playing at the Storm. I actually think he is a better player than Blair. I also think we will end up signing him - just a feeling

Blair has been fine without being a standout. He is a victim of our style of play. If Manu was signed he would have to play a heighno type role no nonsense style

my bet would be on trex to resign with manly and manu to link up with former assistant coach at the storm and coach of his NZ side, steve kearney, at the eels

I'd be wary signing any other player from Melbourne. Its pretty evident they struggle performing outside of Bellamy's structure and coaching.

The relevant link I believe is here:

According to this story not only have WT made an offer so have Melbourne, Parramatta, Canterbury, and Penrith.

Inglis, Folau?

I think its only this season that Inglis has begun to show up for Souths. He seemed pretty quiet. Saying that though, he was in the centres and not running off quality players.
Inglis and Falou are a different kettle of fish, and I probably shouldn't have labelled all melbourne players in that light.
How good is Champion going?

Champion? Was an established player at Souffs before he even went to Melbourne, and didn't exactly set the world on fire there either.

I like Manu's aggression so I had a look at his stats this season so far. He's currently injured and hasn't played since round 5 but here are his stats for 2012.

RD 1:
51 minutes, 11 hit ups for 100 metres, 0 line breaks, 1 offload, 23 tackles, 2 missed tackles, 0 errors

RD2:
44 minutes, 8 hit ups for 59 metres, 0 line breaks, 0 offloads, 17 tackles, 2 missed tackles, 2 errors

RD3:
44 minutes, 4 hit ups for 26 metres, 1 line break, 1 offload, 18 tackles, 0 missed tackles, 1 error

RD4:
57 minutes, 10 hit ups for 72 metres, 0 line breaks, 2 offloads, 24 tackles, 3 missed tackles, 0 errors

RD5: (injured)
25 minutes, 4 hit ups for 39 metres, 0 line breaks, 1 offload, 8 tackles, 1 missed tackle, 1 error

Based on those stats, you would have to say no thanks.

We need a worker to replace Ellis and he isn't that man.

If we need a worker to replace Ellis…. Check Liam Fulton's stats?

A worker with impact, is what I meant.

I appreciate Liam's work rate but he doesn't make the impact that we need.

IMHO Fulton has to be there, he is a combination of Lewis (ball playing forward, can run angles) and Hindmarsh (does dirty work in D).
However, by saying that, Fulton is less effective in attack when the other forwards do not dominate and provide good go forward.
This should not be an issue providing we have healthy Gallaway, Woods, Bell, Cashmere, BMM, Dwyer, Moors, Blair, Groat, Davis, Harris etc.

Offically signed with Penrith Panthers as heard on 7 news, think it is for 3 years so that rules him out of signing with the Tigers.

Sika going to eels I hear

This is madness.

Actually,"madness" is WT signing not one but two second-rowers who cant make their respective run-on teams to replace a champion in Ellis, when Manu who was the next best available & wld probably have cost no more than these two fringe 1st graders combined, neither of whom are likely to make our run on side. Why bother?.
..or signing a hooker mid season to replace Farah when on rep duties, then not selecting him in the run on side when the opportunity arises..?Again,why wld we bother?
..and Anasta, when we have the same skill set in Sironen but 12 years younger..?
Is the plan to buy next years State Cup premiership??
Our recruitment never fails to surprise..yep,we get some right every so often, but an awful lot make no sense
