Simon Dwyer - by Sterlo

I saw him at Smithfield RSL last week with some mates…arm still in a sling

still? that's horrible…. can't believe something could happen like that from something so innocuous. especially when you see GI hitting dean young or Sisa Waqa landing on his neck where the guy is taken off in a neck brace but ends up playing FG pretty quickly after that....

:frowning:

Yeah still in the sling, I see him at the gym, still working hard on everything he can,

Poor bugger!

On the bright side, he still loves his poker!

There's instances like what happened with Dwyer and Tuiaki; and I just think how. How do these injuries happen and why can't they heal like other injuries? It's just really unfortunate and why those with the talent that make it, shouldn't abuse it.

He's taken the hand dealt to him and made the best of it. Good effort by the club to keep him involved.

Another player that could have gone on to be anything cut down in his prime.

I'm sure other clubs have their sad stories but I think we've had our fair share.

Going back, I think Geoff Starling is one of the saddest. A young international struck down with a medical condition which I believe took about 20 years to be properly diagnosed.

However, it is good to see the club helping out with Simon.

Adam Ritson is a modern one.

John Farragher and Dennis Bendall were sad ones as well.

Dennis Bendall one of the best grass cutter tacklers I've seen.. (back when tackling was the real deal not this wrestling rubbish)
