Humpreys was just on the deadset legends, confirmed Dwyer was wrongly diagnosed on the field and shouldn't have had to walk off. Could we be anymore unprofessional?

Not if we tried. How embarrassing.

Unfortunately for us, our trainers are not certified doctors.

He Said the doctor was on the field and that there was no hint of a concussion, if he was walking off like he had no control over his legs and there was no consussion then it's pretty obvious what's wrong with him

Didn't hear the interview, just going off your comments.

the problem with rugby league is that it show cases itself as a macho sport and any player that is knocked senseless and is somehow able to get to his feet with the aid of trainers and is shouldered off the ground gets claps from the crowd because they didnt get to use a stretcher. i think this is appalling and that medicabs or whatever they are should be used for every injury when a player is seen to be walking awkwardly. to now know that dwyer possibly has nerve damage and was seen to be trying to get off the ground without the use of mechanical assistance is really stupid. this is one area that rugby league is still in the dark ages.

Wests Tigers backrower SIMON DWYER has been cleared of serious injury after being rushed to hospital during last night's NRL clash with Canterbury.

DWYER had trouble standing after hurting his shoulder in mis-timed a tackle on Bulldogs prop MICHAEL HODGSON.

Tigers chief executive STEPHEN HUMPHREYS defended the medics' decision to let the 22-year-old walk off the field.

HUMPHREYS says it is unusual for a player to be stretchered off due to a shoulder injury and the reason DWYER was rubber-legged was due to periphery nerve damage.

Scans cleared DWYER of serious damage but the club are still awaiting news on the shoulder.

The Club doctor went on the field and said he was fine to walk off

Hopefully the bye will assist and he'll be back for the Eels game.

I have my doubts and to be honest there is a possibility he may never play again or it could just be slight nerve damage without much to worry about.I dont know for sure and Im no doctor but I Have a fear watching him walk off that theres a remote chance he has suffered something very sickening which if proven to be correct will mean he will never play again.Sad but true. The extremely worrying thing is that he was gone in the lower arm,the shoulder and just as if not more frightening seemingly the right side of his face looked like it might have had some nerve issues.Yet again I dont know exactly but watching him come off then seeing him in a neck brace sent to hospital it did not look to good.

How about you keep your opinions to yourself. :crazy :rant The thing about this forum is full of no-it alls that dribble s***.

Ridiculous post there was no one more worried for him than me.This is quite a surprising whingeing and very "RANDOM" post from someone who doesnt seem to post very much.UMM last time I checked this was a forum which is all about opinions. Its very brave of you from the safety of your laptop big guy to say someone dribbles s*** and this site is full of no it alls.If this is the case why are you on here. :crazy :crazy

I have to be honest (and I am not a doctor), having done a simple first aid course I felt uncomfortable at the moment that he tried to raise his head off the ground. First thing you are taught is that you keep the head/neck still.

TBH to me it looks like the Tigers have been caught with its pants down. No Medicab, took forever to get the stretcher out to him (bringing it on as he was walking off was embarrassing. I can NOT believe a medical professional or even trainers would allow a player with OBVIOUS nerve damage to stand up and walk off.

great to see that Simon has been cleared of any serious damage. if any of us sufffered a simliar impact injury like he did last night, and were later told, there was good news, as in no serious damage, but bad news, shoulder injury.
I would be estatic to learn that there there is a shoulder injury, as in time it will heal.

if it means that Simon has to miss the rest of the season or longer, then really who cares, as it is in significant compared to rest of his life.

Really bad pictures of him when he came off. Looked like he had suffered a stroke!

Sincerely hope he recovers and changes are made to procedures as it was a very bad look for the game.

There was nothing too wrong with his technique…timing just a tad off ...more a freak occurance then anything.

Farah said on Super Saturday they have fears he may not play again this year. His been moved to Royal North Shore and is still suffering pins and needles down his arm. Link is below.

I think youll find that the one you should be pointing your angst at is humphreys who after facing pressure from the media for the poor treatment on the field re stretcher, medicab e.t.c was very quick to downplay the situation next day by saying dwyer had no serious injury. But going off his captain farah he has said something completely different. How you deem this not serious is beyond me.I know who the true grub is.Not me it is the ceo of our freaking club the guys nothing but a politician who cant do his maths when it comes to a salary cap.Maybe the injury aint serious to him because his got plans of getting rid of dwyer too.

It was disgusting that they let him walk off. It made me feel sick. Unintentional mistake but unprofessional in the extreme. Hope simon is ok.

That's how I feel. I'd add that it's only a game and the players health should be the first thing that should be a concern to everyone.

Read what I write and youll see that this is 99% about humphreys fronting the media and seemingly flustered tells the world hes fine but the captain on the same day says something completely different.Sorry for pushing the barrow f thats what you call standing up for dwyers health.Im gonna shy away from namecalling because its cowardice but if you continue to jump to the defence of anything balmain instead of whats right and wrong I think thats detrimental to the wests tigers. This time last year I thought the guy was god with getting tuqiri and increased membership e.t.c and if you go back and look at threads youll see that. The guy this year has proven to me that he says one thing when the reality is something different.I ask you this tell me one person me included who had issues with humphreys last year. This sudden defence of anything considered balmain property is getting sickening.Balmain provide a hell of a lot to this jv Ill be the first to admit it and quite frankly yuoll see for a guy whos made over a thousand posts I certainly never used to get shouted down for supposed anti balmain sentiment. In addition to this I have never(zero and I mean zero)times have I started a thread so certainly not the behaviour from a guy who had a barrow to push or was a troll which I was labelled the other day from someone throwing insults from the safety of their computer. The whole way players have been told to leave this year despite numbers of years on their contract has certainly raised questions of player welfare and this incident to me re the statement he released today just confirms to me the bloke dont care about his players. Please feel free to respond to this tiger4ever but please no balmain conspiracy theorist please Im just all for improving the wests tigers.
