Simona run down by a warriors NYC prop

Let's hope Simona was merely tired/out of breath during the nines game against the Warriors as I was expecting him to run 60meters and score, instead he gave up a 5-10 meter lead and got run down by a warriors NYC prop after a 20 meter gallop which is very disappointing. Why do all our players have to lose their speed !? (cough Lawrence).

It was straight after he sprinted 50 metres to try and save the try in the corner. Looked to me as soon as he was in the clear he didn't have an sprint in him. Still concerning though.

taupau caught dane gagai in u20s aussies vs kiwis in a footrace too.

some props are fast as juniors i guess

not to mention hes just been sprinting around because its 9s, that prop might have just come on

Remember Tamou running down Marshall at some stage also

No biggie unless Timmy has lost speed

We don't have much speed to start with , so if he has lost some go go we could struggle even further

Did Simona kind of slow down because there was cover defence also closing in or did he actually get run down from behind?

Either way yeh I'd expect him to score whenever he's in the clear.

It was after a chase down the other end (he should of put that bloke into touch, held off a bit too long).

He did slow down to draw and pass rather then being run down, but it looked like he was holding back.

I only assume he wasn't going to risk doing a hammy this close to round 1\. Might have even been a directive from Taylor to not over do it (would also explain the lineup for the last game).

Tim only just started light training in the new year.
Looked well and truly short of a run.
Wouldn't really read too much of anything out of the 9's.
I think he was about 80% fit. He'll be back

Simona was gassed, too quick sprints in succession, nothing in the tank for a 3rd.

Anyone who has strapped on a boot knows that feeling all to well. Im not worried about that one.

Fine does nothing for me either. I dont rate Akoula much either.

the answer to your conundrum is in your thread title.
Isn't it funny how we miss the obvious things in life
the things right in front of us that we are blind too.

Fine is a really good defender tho. One of those players handy off bench that can cover forwards and backs. If a back is injured it wouldn't affect us defensively in the backline too much.. I.e Thompson player in centre's

whats more concerning is Fine being run down by Dave Taylor

Not really.

Taylor is a freak and has freakish speed - he's just lazy and only uses it sparingly.

Yes he does, I remember him being played in the centres at one stage last season. He tends to bludge around for 80% of a game, conserving energy so he can put on a sprint and look good at least once throughout a match

Mamo would not have been caught. That's for sure, I was very disheartened by him being caught. I was also SHOCKED when fine was caught by Taylor. Embarrassment.
