SIX players re-signed by Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the re-signing of several exciting players for the 2014 season and beyond.

Here is a list of players the Club has re-signed:

- Kurtis Rowe for two years

- Taqele Naiyaravaro for two years

- Andy Fiagatusa for two years

- Michael Bullock for one year

- Asipeli Fine for one year

- Jarred Farlow for one year

Talented Holden Cup fullback Kurtis Rowe and NSW Cup star Taqele Naiyaravaro will join the Wests Tigers full-time squad.

Nineteen-year-old Rowe is currently equal-leading tryscorer in the Holden Cup, with 24 tries in 24 games this season.

Naiyaravaro has also enjoyed a stellar year in the NSW Cup before an ankle injury whilst playing for NSW Residents cut short his campaign.

Promising Under 20s front-rower Andy Fiagatusa has also signed a two-year deal that will see him spend 2014 with the NSW Cup side before moving into the full-time squad in 2015.

In other exciting news, Wests Tigers have secured promising young talent for the Holden Cup side in 2014 headed by Australian Schoolboy players Marion Seve and Lamar Lioleveave.

The pair will join fellow Keebra Park students Sione Alofi, Watson Heleta, Te Maire Martin and Hala Masila.

Balmain’s premiership-winning SG Ball side of 2013 will also provide a number of up and coming players to the 35 man squad in Tom Satterthwaite, Jayden Wheelhouse, John Tohi, Jeremy Marshall-King, Peter Ta’auso, Tyler Cassell, Dwayne Lemafa and Adam Spicer.

Jacob Follent (Marist Brothers Lismore), Dan Killen and Eli Levido (both All Saints Maitland) will also join the Under 20s for the 2014 season. All three played in the Northern Country Combined Catholic Schools side.

Big T, not sure where he comes in, but glad to have him! Could be a wildcard if he gets a shot.

Geez gone are the days of rugby league players with names like John Smith! :laughing:

On topic though, this is great news - well done Wests Tigers.

Anyone know when Cherrington is signed until?

Hopefully we can resign some of the guys like Tedesco who are off contract at the end of next year during the off season before the poachers try to come in.

Can't find a source, but from memory Cherrington got a new contract beginning of the year, so I think he is under for 2014.

Yeh for sure we will be trying to lock in our great players that are off contract next year we should he of re signing in the off season.

Excellent news, we have some top junior talent coming through and we've re-signed some very promising young players who are all developing well. Keen to see how Mr T goes with another full off-season under his belt and Fiagatusa is showing plenty of promise as a backrower.
 
Awesome news.

Rowe will be a handy backup fullback - plays very much like Tedesco.

I have been very impressed with Andy Fiagatusa in the 20s. He only knows one way and one way only… And that is fast, hard, straight.

Cheers LaT. I like the look of Dallas Graham and Funaki aswell. Hope we've got them under lock and key.

Aaron Woods is a must too secure, and will certainly require a substantial upgrade. He is another who would be up for the Vice Captain next year.

Well that sounds like it could be the end of Moltzen.

Just wondering as well, does Sue have a contract for next year?
 
Has Andy Fiagatusa grown much recently?

Because at 182cm and 90kg he sounds a bit on the small side, although I guess its the size of the heart that really counts.

I'd say so. He looks like a solid unit. Not overly tall but is very stocky and has a motor on him

The talk is Meaney is moving on to Europe next year so Rowe will likely take his backup slot leaving Moltzen & Austin to fight it out for starting and back up jobs IMHO
