So let me get this straight...

Before June 30 we have:

* Released 3 Top 25 Players (BMM, Taqele and Koro)
* Ruled Fulton out for the year
* Know that Moltzen is going to be out until at least Round 20
* Signed NO ONE

Where the hell is the logic in any of this?!? Fulton & Moltzen, ok can't help it. But we have released 3 players off our own accord whilst knowing all this. Effectively we are now missing 20% of our top squad and a lot of it is our own doing…what the hell is going on?!?!?!

and how will they help us make the finals this year genius?

so….we should just let Brooks, Moses, Gavet, Tedesco, Simona, Nofo, Woods all go because they aren't new additions to the team. and won't help us make the finals this year. pretty much useless the lot of em dont you think?

ZERO re-signings together with ZERO money left for re-signings? Unfortunately Wests Tigers Supporters are not privy to knowledge about whether there is any money left in the Cap..

do you actually understand what i am saying?

what does resigning guys (who are already under contract this year) have to do with us losing 5 of our top 25 FOR THIS YEAR

because sometimes CEOs and coaches have to resign players so that we have a future…you know. like next year?

who would you like for the tigers to have signed this year before the June 30 deadline?

im absolutely stoked about the resignings, you have completely missed the point

i dont know who i want us to sign, i didnt want us to release these guys!

do you think its holding us in good stead to have 5 of our top 25 effectively gone halfway through the season?

One can only assume Fergiefurr that the players that have been let go are considered 'collateral damage' after re-signing so many players. We obviously are sailing very close to the wind re salary cap issues and therefore have let players go in an effort to release some cap pressure. I would think Tedesco's contract took up what little cap space was left. Those players had an opportunity elsewhere and for one reason or another were not considered essential to the squad's future success. You may not like it, I may not like it (although I think I would have liked to have kept only Koro) but that is the way that it is. Sometimes I think there are too many people on this forum who expect the impossible to be performed all the time. If the money ain't there, it ain't there. Simple. Let's support the club - players and management - and back them to do the right thing.

In all fairness I would say that BMM was the only player to not improve under Potter. While he is a raw talent, it seems as though he lacks something to assist him make that transition to the big time. Maybe he'll thrive better in a different system at another club, who knows?

Big T wanted to go to Union, he was down the pecking order so it was unfair to stand in his way and there's nothing to suggest yet that Marika has signed anywhere.

if by 5 you mean two, BMM and Big T then i think that's fine. Both wanted to leave and hadn't really found a place in our FG team.

Fulton and Moltzen are injured, what do you want Mayer to do here? put some magic lotion on their brains and fractured kneecaps?

And Koro hasn't left yet, but same for him if he does leave. There's no spot in the FG team for him, therefore he wants to leave. Also, salary cap pressures wouldnt help now that we've got teddy. He's the only one you could make a real case for though.

Has Fulton offically been ruled out for the year?????

Of course it's salary cap related, but the club would not have let those three go if they thought they were in the first grade plans. Murdoch and T were now have an opportunity to secure something better for themselves at other clubs/codes, as will Koroibete as he is obviously down the winger pecking order (for whatever reason). Same as when we picked up Lodge and Santi. Good luck to them all. The salary cap can be an evil and complicated beast, but I'm glad it's there for the sake of all the poorer clubs like ours.

Koro left yesterday, Tigers have signed Bulldogs ex under 20's winger Jon Sila as a possible replacement. lol if you thought Koro was shaky in defence, wait till you see this guy!! And is not even in the same planet attack wise as Koro!! Has been playing with Utai for Auburn Warriors lolDemoted to Ron Massey at the dogs before Des said see you later. :deadhorse: :brick:

BMM - no loss. Never kicked on
Big T - an unknown. I don't think he would've cut it in the NRL on the wing, would've liked to have seen him brought along a la Tony Williams
Koroibete - a loss. Been in stellar form this year, and given we're light on in the backs, I would've liked to have kept him.

I very much support the club's retention policy. I truly believe if we keep the same group of 25 together for 2-3 years (which it looks like), we will be consistent finals performers.

My only worry is our backs depth. Lulia doesn't impress me, and with Koro gone, there's little to no NRL experience amongst the other guys. A few seasons ago we could all see that juniors like Simona, Nofa, Koro etc would be first graders in the near future. Can't say I see the same with our current lot.

Going off ZeroTackle's list, there's not a lot of gun outside backs available. Ones I'd consider would be Mitch Brown, Dale Copley and Matt Duffie.
