So much negativity

I can't remember a lead-up to a game with as many death riders as this one. Some of the insignifcant things people are clutching at is borderline hillarious. So far the list of reasons why the Tigers will struggle to beat a team running second last include:
-Parra will be switched on coz they'll want to avoid the spoon
-Ellis is in doubt, so that has thrown the Tigers chances into chaos
-Jarryd Hayne will be looking for a big one for the pasting he's copped this week
-Benji on the footy show-apparently the last time Benji was on the footy show was before the last Parra game. So obviously that means an automatic loss
-the pokie curse- while this was in reference to the Titans game next week, I thought this was worthy of a mention, as to how far some people will go to find some negativity

how bout we start talking positive for a change. We're playing a team running second, and before anyone points to our record against them, we have won 3 of the past 5 including both last yr

Every single time I have been positive without apprehension about facing a side we should dsipose of we get done.

That is why I remain apprehensive about every game.

It also makes victory sweeter

I must admit I am trying to be 100% positive but the NRL is so tight if we do not turn up to play we will get our pants pulled down. I am 90% sure we will win and comfortably but because the Tigers have always been consistently inconsistent I have that little voice in the back of my head saying "This week we will have a shocker" haha.

A lot of the negativity is relevant to a point though mate

- they will be fighting to offload the spoon,
- the way we play we may well be due for a loss,
- we do have major injuries still,
- they have always been a thorn in our side,

Which is the exact reason I think sunday arvo will be so sweet when we beat them 34-4 without them scoring a try!!!!!!!

I don't know where you've been hiding but this is the way it is around here and has been since day dot. Death riding has become like an addiction. No matter how hard the usual death riders try to fool themselves and others into believing the team has turned the corner, sooner or later, the nasty addiction monster gets a hold of them and their death riding returns.

x 2 Every time I think we definitely have a teams measure we lose and lose bad IE Souths ,Parra etc
I think it is a protection measure Don't let yourself have believe
My main concern now is the fact our left side is bare without Ellis
i wonder what our record is this year without Lote , Rowdy and Ellis ??

lol, you clearly haven't been a tigers fan for long :roll

We have plenty to play for, just one point behind the dragons & if they loose to the storm we jump them, so we have to be switched on for all games now. Go the tigers.

i'm betting that if we were playing the Broncos or the Storm this week, everybody would be talking up how we'll beat them. Yet we are playing a team running 15th and all people do is talk up ways of how we'll lose

I remember last yr when the Tigers were sitting in third, people would get nervous going into games coz the Tigers would be favourites. HEELLOO they were running 3rd, obviously that means they would have already won a few games as favourites considering how high they were sitting on the ladder

GNR, I have to admit I am nervous not negative aobut these remaining matches. Too many times I have seen us lose the games we SHOULD win or win the games we shouldn't … Wasn't too long ago we were talking about still making the 8 if we lose both the Manly and Dragones game.

I think theres a difference between being nervous and negative. I'm nervous before any game, but to look for reasons as too why they will get beat, and to come with just plain stupid reasons is going over the top

There are genuine reasons to stop and think there is a chance we won't win.

I am a little nervous because I think there are some dangers in that Eels team, they really have no pressure on them (aside from trying to avoid the spoon) and they have generally had the wood over us.

I think it's a good test, if we do dominate then I think confidence around here will jump.

If its a dry track, we are gona smash em by 60 points!!!

C'mon Robbie!!!
C'mon Lui!!!
C'mon Benji!!!
C'mon Timmy!!!
C'mon Beau!!!
C'mon Ayshford!!!
C'mon Sauce!!!
C'mon Woods!!!
C'mon Fults!!!
C'mon Gibbs!!!
C'mon Rhino!!!
C'mon Moors!!!

You would be right because we have a history of performing well against very good sides, and playing poorly against much inferior teams.

yes, but would you consider reasons such as Marshall on the footy show or a supposed 'pokie curse' legitamate reasons to feel nervous going into a match?

No, only concern is that Parra have lost 5 in a row & wests-tigers may treat them lightly.
last time wests-tigers played eels they had lost 5 in a row, and we know how that ended.

we all want badly for wests-tigers to make the top 8.
they are not assured of this yet.

yes they are assured, coz they won' t lose their last 3
last time the Tigers played Parra they were in horrible form and weren't playing for a possible spot in the top 4
they won't be treating Parra lightly after the minor scare they recieved against the Panthers
they will come out focused and they will win, and win easy

Hope you are right but forgive me for not being completely confident.

It is up to the players and coaching staff to change our negative attitude. People are cautious for a very good reason.
