So....

GNR4LIFE and stryker, I suggest if you both want to remain members of this forum, grow up now and cease the schoolboy pettiness. If it continues you're both out of here.

We want someone to come in here, clean all the crap up that former managment have put in place and sort out the playing roster.
That's until someone comes here and actually does it. Then it's a disgrace.

Best comment ever in the best thread ever started in all my years as a member of these forums. This highlights how fickle most are on these forums. Thanks for starting the thread Ink and thanks for this comment gallagher.

What have they actually done by this decision that has benefited anyone! If it was about money and easing the salary cap pressures - epic fail. If it was about attracting new players - epic fail. If it was about getting rid of Robbie Farah at the moment - epic fail. If it was about creating a stable environment for the players and providing the fans some hope that success is not far way- epic fail. If it was about making us look the most inept club in the competition at the moment- congratulations achieved.

Disagree.

They are easing the salary cap - The number of players that have gone have eased the pressure. If Farah gets another club we have eased it even further. PASS

We cannot attract new players as there is no money (thanks to previous administration) so we are not buying new players and back ending contracts. PASS

They have got rid of Robbie Farah - he will not play NRL next year for the Tigers. PASS

The reason is disruption to the NRL team, he will not be in it. If they carry it further then they should not pick him for NSW Cup and cause more disruption. This will cause a more stable environment. PASS.

They have indicated to all and sundry that they are now a responsible club, that they will not take rubbish and destabilising people in the club. They have indicated that they are rebuilding a great club from the ground up - all these attributes do not indicate ineptitude but a responsible, stable environment for the youngsters of tomorrow that we have the best of. PASS

All your passes Russ are dependant on Farah actually leaving. According to him he is going no where at the moment - and he has a contract that supports his right to stand by that decision. And after what happened on the field yesterday our club is looking more inept than ever, and have dug an even bigger hole for themselves. You better hope he attracts interest from somewhere or JT and co will have a far bigger problem to resolve than allowing him the right to honour his contract.

If they don't play him in first grade he will leave. No way will he be picked for Origin from second grade, despite Daley's lip service.

He'd have to be underdone, you'd think.

Daley knows he isn't going to play in NSW cup, thus giving him the freedom to look as loyal to Robbie as possible.

Very desperate post Russell. What are you going to do when all your questionable passes do not come through?

I wouldn't describe Russell's post as desperate Stryker. As someone noted above, his scenario is based on the assumption that Robbie leaves (or plays NSW Cup).

The stakes are very high and I can't imagine that both JT and Robbie will be at the WT for the whole of next year. If Robbie stays in first grade with the WT then I don't think JT can survive the season. That would make JT a very desperate man indeed. And also, I expect, the board.

Hence the ferocious PR campaign being played out in the media. If JT loses the battle of wills with Robbie, then I think he will lose his coaching job and, moreover, the board will suffer severe collateral damage as well.

Although Robbie seems to winning the PR battle in the media, the media don't get to select the WT squad, which is fortunate for JT. It seems to me that JT and the board have too much to lose to back down now.

For these reasons, I think there is a strong chance that Robbie won't be playing first grade with the WT next year. If that's the case, then all of a sudden, the points made by Russel seems very reasonable.

I might add that I think that losing JT would be more calamitous than losing Robbie next year. I think that being forced to appoint a fourth coach in five years would be a disaster for the WT.

If the board don't want to look really stupid, they will have to follow through on it now. Not to do so now would make them look impotent and reactive rather than following through on an unpopular but courageous decision to try to improve things.
