Hard to call it a sport.
The reason its so popular is its the most basic 'sport' on the planet with about 4 rules. Very little IQ required and next to zero equipment, you have a round pigs bladder and a mud field you have soccer. From village to manor, its all class inclusive.
Definitely the world game due to the above reasons, it has very little to do with it actually being good though.
Might be slightly entertaining and not a complete snore 'fest if the field was cut in half and 3 players reduced from each side.

The A League is embarrassing but when you watch good teams play it's great entertainment. The World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world for a reason.

Sure its simple on a whole, but there's plenty of intricacies to consider though and don't get me wrong I don't think too many RL players have an IQ over 70 but soccer is below flatlining when it comes to brains needed to play the game.

Don't get me wrong I am not mocking league for being a simple game. One of my favourite games is Texas Holdem. There is a saying in the poker world, "Texas Holdem is a simple game to learn, but can take a lifetime to master."
It's a very simple game. The rules are pretty clear and there's few of them. The only real interpretations that have to be determined come from challenges/tackles and that's about it.
It's easy to learn but hard to master. I feel a lot more Aussies would appreciate the game if it wasn't rife with diving.

Have only ever watched 1 game of soccer from start to finish and that was a World Cup final I had some cash on. Apart from that it's just about unwatchable for any longer than 10 minutes. Field needs to be half the size.

I don't know what drugs that bloke is on posting it all over youtube, as if everyone does not realise that rugby league is niche, and as if anyone who actually follows rugby league gives a shit.
Like imagine watching an NRL video, someone tells you soccer is more popular, and then you go "oh I didn't realise, I suppose I won't watch NRL any more".
But the really odd part is they keep up with the rugby league news enough to know that Tonga has recently become a bigger player in international league.
I reckon it's got to be a bot account.
I've seen that same exact comment from that same exact Manchester United account on rugby league videos for at least 10 years.
