Soccer Super Thread

Just for interest, here are a couple of (what might be a zillion web articles about selections etc) for the next gameweek:

Happy researching - and remember, you can have one free transfer per gameweek, or even let a week go by, adjust your players from within, and then in the following week - you can make 2 changes, if so desired.

1\. I want happy tiger back, because I can feel lots of potential West Ham banter missing that could have been exploited with all the player movements.

2\. Early days but Man U look stronger than last season.

3\. And what about Mooy - absolutely sensational start to an EPL career!
Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Mooy! Mooy! Mooy!

Doesn't look out of place in the EPL. Hopefully Hudders stay up and he's an integral part of it and can make a move to a bigger club.

Gameweek 2 results are in - and here they are:

Laroche Lions (tiger_one) 52 - 35 Bon Vivant (Mrs tiger_one)
Bozo's Ballers (Bozo97) 45 - 57 Queens Park Raisins (Marshall_magic)
MANS (swag tiger) 33 - 50 Aldinga Allstars (JRD)
FPL FC (wt00) 35 - 23 Fibro's (851)
Tranquilo (Dazza-96) 47 - 38 Beijing Town (tba)
Minto FC (Harvey) 47 - 27 Benzeman da Tiger (WestsBen Tigers)

Early days, like 36 gameweeks to go, so sure enough, teams are still being adjusted etc, in these early weeks of the comp.

Historically, so-called Fantasy experts have always said that it's better to trust established players early on in the comp, waiting for new players to find their feet in the comp. Well, try and tell that to all the managers of the many new players who performed so well, straight off the bat.

Special mention to Laroche Lions, Tranquilo, Minto FC and FPL FC who carried on their 1st round win with consecutive success into gameweek 2.

Although, it should be noted that all teams appear to have had lowish scores (44 being the average team score across the 4,608,508 fantasy players in this comp world-wide) - our leagues scores are showing signs of being better than most.
Congrats therefore to everyone - just keep it up!

And now for the best part: we each get to do it all over again effective next week-end.
Good Luck to everyone in your trades (or not!).

Still feels surreal seeing Rooney back in an Everton kit, it was something that was touted for a long time, but I never thought it would actually happen. He looks a new player and both of his goals have clearly meant a lot to him. Whilst I can't see him hitting 20 league goals, I can see him being key for us and scoring 10-15 key goals in the league.

Heads up - Gameweek 3 kicks off tomorrow night, Sydney time - don't forget to fix teams if you have to.

Good luck everyone in your team choices.

Well, Gameweek 3 is done (only 35 more to go!).

And the transfer window is finally going to close this week, so teams should be a bit easier to choose from when the ins/outs are settled.

This round, Tranquilo (Dazza-96) had a win over Queens Park Raisins (Marshall_magic) 63 -55 in a big scoring match, but all match-ups were pretty competitive (the EPL fantasy comp average this round was 43, so our teams were better than most!)

Tranquilo (Dazza-96) has taken the lead in the league from (Laroche Lions (tiger_one) with Minto FC (Harvey) all locked together on 9 points, with a cluster of following teams already having scored at least one win as well.

Bozo’s Ballers (Bozo97), Beijing Town (tba), and Benzeman da Tiger (WestsBen Tigers) round off the league, each waiting to open their scores for the season.

All up, there are 4,796,507 fantasy players in this comp world-wide - our leagues scores are showing signs of being better than most.
Congrats therefore to everyone - just keep it up!

And now for the best part: we each get to do it all over again effective next week-end.
Just try to remember, the big thing is to try and get your team research done reasonably early, with transfers etc done before the first game of every round to get the best chance of more points.

Good Luck to everyone in your trades (or not!).
