Ideally we aren't really a contender for the Asian Cup, we don't have a striker. Japan/Korea/Iran will fight it out for the title. I think Arzani will be a huge loss for the squad, but I feel we need to move 3-4 players on and build for Qatar. Team I would take to Dubai is

Work with that for now and as other players come into form blood them into the squad, there is nobody there (aside from maybe Vukovic who is early 30s - but a keeper can go till 37-38) who cannot make it to 2022\. I feel as though Arnie should have come in 9 months ago, and we have wasted the World Cup. When Ange got a limited time in charge before 2014 he used the WC to develop a squad to win the Asian Cup, whereas now we have 90 more minutes against a minnow to get the side together.

Problem is, A-League teams get 5 imports and 2 marquees (which can overlap). Every single team splashes the cash on a foreign striker, who was the last A-League team to do anything with an Aussie leading the line for them? Honestly, the only one I can think of is the Wanderers winning the ACL with Juric…....who nobody rates for the NT. The systems really fails when it comes to developing strikers.
