I think whoever coaches the side needs to encourage every player in the mix to find their level. We see players like Leckie, Mooy & Ryan go abroad and take their games to the next level, but too many are happy to take the easy money in a weaker league or come back to the A-League and guarantee themselves game time rather than working for it.
I see it rather differently M_M but I do agree in some cases
Some players aren't getting enough game time in the stronger leagues / teams they have signed for
Then the question becomes is game time important or the level of football and less game time important ??
World Cup yes …..Asian Cup confidence going in is far more important imo
