The way people lost their minds about the Matilda’s…and they were as boring as batshit to watch and pretty dull skillwise…I hope these guys receive similar support. I was surprised how good they looked.
Turkey are a quality side. This was a statement for us and our ability to press and then regress for defence. It was a testament to Pop's coaching.

However we need to put a stamp on our style - which is very different - by kicking the US in the nuts next weekend.

WOW!!
Morocco
🇲🇦
became the first national team ever to field a starting XI made up entirely of players born outside the country

Popa made some brave choices and they paid off. He's got form in taking a young talented side against heavyweights and beating them (WSW beating al-Hilal in the ACL in 2014.)

Great plan to nullify the Turkish attack. They seldom got chances at the top of the box, the midfield and back five forced them to attack from the sides of the box all game and the backline swamped them. We took our chances on the counter. Irankunda's goal with three blokes around him and a keeper to beat was class.

Yeah Paraguay and the US won't play the same, but the Turkish are objectively the most talented and best team in our group so if we can do them, we are a chance against the other two.

Pat Beach was outstanding, read every strike. I like Mat Ryan but surely you reward that performance with another cap.

That was the best goal Australia ever scored in the World Cup Penrith like.
Just class.
They put themselves and Australia on the map yesterday.

20 year old Nestor Irankunda. Possibly best goal of the World Cup and Patrick Beach the goalkeeper, a copy paste of arguably one of Australias best ever goal keepers - Ante Covic.

That's it. Cannot speak for them this Saturday morning.

It's like Wests Tigers being in the top 8 for the first 5 or 6 weeks before reality sets in.

That Turkish wanker that was slinging crap before the match still reckons they were the better team, legends in their own minds, hope they don't make it out of the group.
