When watching the US, Canada and Mexico, you can clearly see they are getting the calls. Although that's pretty standard with a host nation.

However 3 countries have never been hosts in the World Cup before. This is a problem.

And FIFA have recently announced 3 nations to co-host the 2030 cup as well, Morocco, Portugal and Spain, so it’s now becoming a trend.

We gotta play positive from the outset and obviously pick the right team. I thought Volpato was good today. Hope he starts with Irakunda. Think we need to go with a 4-4-2 formation. Should be a cracking game.

Poppa's team selections sucked today, it was like he was wanting a draw.

They were clearly the best team in our group and should have gone with the strongest team possible.

Turkey eliminated, path opens up for Socceroos​

Paraguay has held on for a 1-0 win over Turkey, which opens things up nicely for the Socceroos. Paraguay is just the fourth team in World Cup history to win a match after conceding a red card in the first half.
Favoured to top the group heading into the World Cup, Turkey have lost to Australia and Paraguay and and won’t progress to the knockout stages, eliminated from the World Cup in a major surprise.

The result means Australia is locked in to finish second or third in Group D, depending on the result of the final group stage game against Paraguay.
Australia can finish no lower than third and a draw is all the Socceroos need to make the round of 32.
