An Aussie lands at Swindon Town!

League Two outfit Swindon Town have announced the signing of Australian defender Kaelan Majekodunmi on a one-year deal, following a successful trial at the club.

Majekodunmi, who made 15 appearances in the A-League for Perth Glory, has been with Swindon since the start of pre-season and โ€˜impressed during friendlies against Crystal Palace, Bristol City, Leyton Orient, and Forest Green Roversโ€™.

Most recently the 22-year-old defender was playing in NPL Western Australia with Olympic Kingsway.

โ€œThe games have been good; itโ€™s been a different environment for me, but Iโ€™ve felt really good, and itโ€™s been a really good test,โ€ he told the clubโ€™s official website.

โ€œI think Iโ€™ve done well so far and Iโ€™m excited to keep going; itโ€™s been a lot of hard work, so Iโ€™m really excited for the season to come.

Aussie young gun signs new deal with EPL club

Aussie goalkeeper Steven Hall has signed a new two-year deal with Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 21-year-old joined the Seagulls from Adelaide United in 2024 and is yet to make his first team debut, but has been featured in the clubโ€™s pre-season friendlies in recent weeks after starring for their youth sides.

โ€œSteven played a big part in the team that won Premier League 2 last season and also had some valuable experiences with our first team squad in the second half of the year,โ€ Brightonโ€™s U21 head coach Shannon Ruth said.

โ€œHe has shown an excellent level of professionalism both with us and Australia at youth level and we have been impressed with his progress since joining us. Weโ€™re delighted to continue to work with him.โ€

Hall will hope to one day challenge Patrick Beach for the Socceroosโ€™ No. 1 spot, having featured prominently for the Olyroos.

Brisbane Roar bring back former captain Tom Aldred

Brisbane Roar have confirmed the return of former captain Tom Aldred on a one-year deal.

The 35-year-old returns to the Roar after two seasons in India with Mohun Bagan, where he won the ISL Shield and ISL Cup, becoming a fan favourite in the process.

Aldred became an Australian citizen in 2024 and will not take up a visa spot for the A-League side.

โ€œWhen the opportunity came up to return to the Roar, the decision was an easy one,โ€ Aldred said.

โ€œMy family loved living in Brisbane and it was a privilege to wear the orange shirt for as long as I did during my five years here.

SPURS v CHARLTON โ€” A MEETING 15 YEARS IN THE MAKING!
โšฝ๏ธ

Tottenham have been drawn at home to Charlton Athletic in the second round of the 2026/27 Carabao Cup.
Itโ€™s a fixture with a little bit of history behind it โ€” because Spurs and Charlton havenโ€™t met since 9 January 2011!
That last meeting came in the FA Cup third round at White Hart Lane, when
Spurs ran out 3โ€“0 winners.
โšฝ๏ธ
Andros Townsend 49'
โšฝ๏ธ
Jermain Defoe 58'
โšฝ๏ธ
Jermain Defoe 60'
It was a particularly memorable afternoon for Townsend, who scored on his Spurs debut with a 25-yard strike. Defoe then added two goals in quick succession against the club where he had started his career.
And now, 15 years later, the two clubs meet again.
This will be a first-ever Carabao Cup/League Cup meeting between Tottenham and Charlton.
So, after all those years, itโ€™s Spurs v Charlton once again โ€” and this time in the Carabao Cup!
COYS!

More Australians played in the opening match of the Scottish Premiership season than Scots!
Dundee United drew 1-1 with Rangers - and former A-League striker Lachie Rose opened his account.

Lachie Rose handed Dundee United the lead against powerhouse Rangers in a match that actually saw more Aussies take the field than Scottish players.

Rose was joined in the Dundee starting XI by Zac Sapsford and Josh Rawlins, while Daniel Bennie came off the bench, while Cammy Devlin started for Rangers and played 82 minutes in midfield as the game ended 1-1.

Elsewhere, Aussie goalkeeper Jacob Chapman made a strong debut for St Mirren, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Falkirk, who had Ryan Strain put in a big shift at right-back, headlined by 10 recoveries and four clearances.

Motherwell beat Hibernian 2-1 in their opener, with Socceroos winger Martin Boyle scoring from the penalty spot for Hibs, who also had Ante Suto come off the bench.
