Someone will be Re-signed tomorrow

Nofo confirmed 3 year extension. Koror may be offered early release

Great news for David and Wests Tigers.
Happy to see Koroibete and BMM shown the door if it means we can keep our genuine juniors.

Yeah i get the feeling we may see more than one re-signing too. Nofa appears to be a done deal and Mayer definitely dropped the hint of more than one player signing. Ideally it would be Tedesco but there's a fair chance it could be Sironen. As some have said, it appears BMM and Koroibete could be sacrificed to keep the likes of Teddy, Sirro and Nofa. As they say…"You can't keep them all".

Not too long ago there was an article about BMM shopping himself around, and not happy here looking to get out early… who knows if there is any truth to it, but where there is smoke there is usually fire. If there is any truth to it then losing BMM is a no brainer.

On Koro though I dont see him being on anything more than minimum contract, and on that sort of coin is well worth persevering with as he seems to be catching on and improving, being so raw who knows what a season or 2 could really do for his development. Anyone got info on Koro being released, or has it popped up out of nowhere?

I think it is pretty common knowledge that to keep everyone mentioned that some will need to go

BMM and Koroibete are the two we are shopping around

We've been waiting since the Semi FInal Vs the Roosters in 2010 to see BMM explode onto the scene - very patiently I might add - that was 5 years ago.

We have seen glimmers of his quality, however it's been far too long now - he has never really kicked on, and when he looks like he's going to breakout he suddenly has "feet for hands" syndrome.

I honestly don't mind if the kid finds form at another club ala Fifita - If he does so be it. If he languishes here in NSW cup he's only doing himself a disservice, and the Tigers a disservice.

He's a nice guy, and I genuinely wish him well wherever he ends up.

I think this a great move by the club… Someone has been playing excellent footy for a while now and I'm glad we have kept Someone from signing with the Bulldogs.

I'd be sad if Ben Murdoch-Masila were to leave. He's a guy who I've always expected and wanted to do well. As with you Underdog, I would really like to see him have success at another club if he moves on. I suspect he will have success too. That's not an indictment upon our club, I just think sometimes players need to move on, recalibrate, and refocus at a new club. It happens with a degree of regularity.

Similarly if Korobete moves on I'd like to see him do well. It's a big move from Fiji and a lot of pressure riding on a young man to try and make good in Sydney. At this stage he's behind a few in the team. It might be good for him to move to a club that will really invest him moving forward. If he is to leave, I hope the club/his manager helps him with the transition to a new club. We brought him over as a kid, and I believe that imposes a pretty heavy moral imperative upon us to ensure his welfare. Particularly given Mosese Fotuaika's death and how close he and Korobete apparently were.

At the end of the day, if we have Simona, Nofoaluma, Tedesco (fingers crossed), Woods, Sironen, Brooks, and Moses signed up for the next 3 years we have done outrageously well. I'd cut quite a few players to ensure that happens. That every single player is a legitimate junior (rather than players who just played through the Holden Cup) is bordering upon outrageous. Something the club should be very, very proud of.

**Wests Tigers re-sign young star Nofoaluma**

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the re-signing of exciting winger David Nofoaluma on a three-year-deal.

A Campbelltown Collegians junior, Nofoaluma has played 19 NRL games since making his debut in Round 10 of the 2013 season against South Sydney.

During his time in the top grade, the 20-year-old has crossed for 11 tries including the 2013 Dally M Try of the Year against Manly at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Nofoaluma was part of the premiership-winning Wests Tigers Holden Cup side in 2012 and last year represented the Junior Kangaroos.

The new deal secures yet another talented local junior for Wests Tigers and is a significant boost leading into Saturday night’s clash with North Queensland at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

“The Club has been great to me over the years and I’m really enjoying my football,” Nofoaluma said. “Being a local junior, I’ve made some great friends coming through the grades at Wests Tigers and playing alongside those guys is something I cherish.

“I’ve always supported the Wests Tigers, it’s a great feeling to be now playing NRL for the Club and I’m thankful for the opportunity I have been given,” he said.

Head Coach Mick Potter was pleased with new deal for Nofoaluma, which will see him remain at the Club until the end of the 2017 season.

“David is yet another local product that the Club has secured on a long-team deal,” Potter said. “He is a pleasant young man who is great to work with and is always great to coach.

“We have already seen how talented David is and he keeps on getting better, he no doubt has a long, bright future ahead of him,” he said.

Wests Tigers CEO Grant Mayer said the Club is now focused on securing the remaining off-contract local juniors.

“This is a significant step forward for the Club in completing the retention of our local juniors,” Mayer said. “David has been dynamic since his debut against the Rabbitohs last year and has quickly become a crowd favourite.

“To retain him with so much interest from other clubs is a real coup and a testament to the culture that we are building at Wests Tigers.”

There are a number of other players that the Club are working on securing and remain hopeful that further announcements can be made in the coming weeks.

“Negotiations are never as straight forward as they seem but I have been consistent in my messaging that the retention of our local juniors is a priority,” Mayer said. “After discussions with player managers, the players themselves and our coaching staff, I’m convinced that we are on the same page.

“For avoidance of doubt, I’ll be making no comment about specific players until we have a good news story,” he said. “In the meantime I implore our fans to come out to Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday night and cheer on the Wests Tigers - #2560.”

Glad to have him locked up. A great player on the field, and a great guy off it based on his charity work he's been doing this week. I seriously thought the Roosters were a threat at poaching him to replace RTS.

Well done to Grant Mayer and congrats to Nofa!

I think in the long term Nofoaluma could prove to be a better signing than Tedesco. Tedesco is too injury prone and theres always the chance the more injuries he picks up, the bigger the chance his ability could diminish. This was up there with getting Tedesco locked up well and truly.

I would like to see koro re-signed as he could be a real asset once he learns the game and tightens up his defense, also as a back up winger cause if nofo or Richards get injured who would we call on if koro isn't at the club ?

Can't agree. Nofoaluma has pure athleticism but he's not a footballer. Tedesco is. Add to that Tedesco is in one of the key positions on the field and Nofoaluma is in the least important position on the field. Nofoaluma reminds me of an improved version of Sam Perrett. Really excellent finisher, but just a finisher.

The injuries have been a bit of a worry, but plenty of footballers have come back from more severe and chronic injuries than Tedesco. The knee inury is/was a worry to me, particularly given it's similarity to Moltzen's intiial injury and Moltzen's continuing struggles. The ankle injury is pretty nothing and was the result of an unlucky position in the tackle.

Don't mean to be too vehement in my disagreement of course. And it's still excellent news for the club.

Move on with the Tedesco and Sironen re-signings please.

Awesome news!

I genuinely believe this guy is an Origin player, he will be as well respected as say a Matt Sing for how he stepped up in the Origin arena.

Im not even going bother to respond to these posts above crying about Koro or Tedesco's contract.

Some people you just cant please.

I'd also like to see Koro re-signed. Richards is at the back end of his career and I still feel Koro will improve.

To those saying Tedesco is injury prone, cut the guy some slack. Yes he had a week or two out in the middle of last year, but don't forget he played the RLWC as well in the off season. In the past 12 months he's not missed much footy. He also plays one of the most involved and dangerous positions on the park. Running the ball back at a 100 miles an hour into a brick wall again and again is bound to knock you around. As is leaping high into the air with several 100+kg men doing the same.

To those saying the wing is the least important position on the park and that Nofa is 'just a finisher' - I'd much rather have someone that can finish off a polished backline play than someone who keeps getting bundled into touch. Without that it's useless. His strength close to the line has WON us several games (ie Nth Qld at Leichhardt last year), and it will continue to do so. His kick returns and tackle breaks are an extremely important part of the team and give our forwards that extra little bit of time to get back in the line to take the first few hit ups.
