Didn't get a ticket to Soundwave 2011 because it was such a trek? Well sorry to disappoint but the venue has just changed from Eastern Creek Raceway to Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park!

Today it was announced on the official Soundwave site that festival organisers have decided to change the venue because Eastern Creek still required work to bring it up to scratch for such a large festival.

"Having already spent substantial time, effort and treasure to make improvements to the venue – adding major shade structures, plumbing to enable the addition of hundreds of free water taps and coming up with foolproof traffic management regime, Soundwave Festival and the venue operators have jointly decided that we would rather unveil the new Eastern Creek when even more additional improvements and renovations have been completed." the Soundwave site stated.

We hope that the new venue doesn't impose noise restrictions or curfews which was the draw card for having the festival at Eastern Creek.

Good news for those that decided not to buy a ticket due to the old venue, there are still tickets available to the Sydney show, details are below.

General Public tickets on sale now through http://www.soundwavefestival.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; & http://www.ticketek.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 132 849 & http://www.oztix.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; & Oztix outlets. Brisbane and Melbourne are sold out. Tickets are available (unless sold out since publishing) for Sydney Sunday 27th February, Adelaide Bonython Park 5th March, and Perth March 7th venue TBC.

Rock legends Iron Maiden will headline 2011's Soundwave festival.

The speculation is finally over! Soundwave, Australia's rock, metal and punk festival, have finally announced that Iron Maiden will be undoubtedly Soundwave's best headlining act yet!
