Souths after Tim Moltzen...

I just heard on the news that south where trying to negotiate a deal with Wests Tigers to get Tim Moltzen out of his contract. It is reported that Souths are spewing they lost Sandow and Moltzen was next on their radar.

I say, get lost souths

They can't afford him this year . They had to release Champion just to fit Inglis . Next year may be a different question , but Sheens will fight tooth and nail to keep him I think

So there not signing Craig Gower or Brett Finch…Moltzen hey

Which Channel?

If I were Souths I'd be trying to sign Moltzen and bring Brett Finch from England. A halves combination of Finch and Moltzen would be a lot stronger than the current combo of Sandow and Sutton. Move Sutton to lock where he's better suited anyway.

Danny Weidler said on channel 9 news that souths are not going after Brett Finch and are looking at a number of players with some being under contract, he then mentioned Moltzen as one of these players.

He would have to be tempted to go as I believe he wants to be a half, Hope he doesn't go though!

I wouldn't be to fussed to be honest if he does go, Lui has got the no 7 all sewn up now and Miller will be a star. Moltzen has plenty of talent but if wishes to play in the halves he will need to go else where.

there's no way he will go, there was an article in RLW today with Moltzen saying he wants to extend his future at the club, Moltzen prefered position is fullback, we all know he's a better half-back, but between him and Tim sheens they both say he preferes fullback, he wont leave the tigers, no one can believe danny weidler anyway

Geo,Captain AWEsome is spot on.Thats what was said. They also said gower was out of the question too.

FMr Wiedler better read Matt Lougue's article in this weeks RLW….Tiger Timmy

If we had to let one go it would be Moltzen. BUT, we should try to keep him at all costs as he will be a fantastic utility. I dare say he will be the Bears first choice 5/8 in 2013.

LOL @ The Bears.
That's a big IF.

I promise much anger and thrashing of keyboards (for all the good that it would do) if he is allowed to go.

i remember when rugby league week did an article on shannon hegarty saying he wanted to be a rooster for life. 3 days later he signed with souths.

players never openly say they are thinking about leaving a club. tbh the best move for moltzens career is to look elsewhere…..however definetaly not souths.

I know he's not killing it atm when he plays fullback but i can see him being a gun fullback especially in attack if he can improve defending kicks and his kick returns he'll be an ideal replacement for Wade.

Same i so the RLW and tim moltzen said he wants to stay long term and his a tiger and he is close to all the boys and have a close realtionship im sure he wont be leaveing i can telll u he will stay with wests tigers he loves tigers and yeh he does live with benjii and the tank tanila and so is blake asford he said he is setting to sign a long term in tigers thats why our player our loyal they all love tigers and our coach go u tigers 😀

Whilst I think Tim Moltzen is a very good player and will improve signing him to a new long term contract now would not be my priority if I was in charge of player retention. I would not be rushing to let him go but I would try to work out were he best fits the team, I think utility is his best position for the Tigers.

On the other hand I am glad Souths are after Tim Moltzen and not Robert Lui ( he would be my number 1 priority to get signed to a new long term contract).
