Concord hospital has a great cancer unit…Judith Trotman cared for my wife....they are such a caring team....best wishes for the future to your wife and her treatment TT

You're right in that there a no guarantees in life TT, a little bit of pain now for better quality and quantity of life is a no brainer.

Be there for her and be sure to remind her that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Chronic illness does a number on people and can really send you into a spiral.

Look forward to hearing more good news soon mate.

Just letting you guys and girls know that my partner of 12 yrs has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has had a single mastectomy this week gone…..This came as a total shock to us and now we are dealing with it as best we can,her Dr said he will cure her and we may have got it early.....

Even in these circumstances my partner was released yesterday and today went back over to the hospital to give her roommate flowers and donuts as she has no family in the area....a true generous and big hearted woman is my partner and hopefully after 6 months of chemo we will be back to as close to normal as possible..

I love my partner...the WTs and you guys...heres to a great preseason and year ahead...

sidenote to all the girls on the forum or who visit our site....always check your breasts and have scans, this disease comes out of nowhere...prevention is better than cure...

God bless, and may the force be with you :sign:

Stay positive brother and remember to be thankful in every circumstance! I know it can be very hard especially during a time like this. I was going through a certain something in my life and found out a week later that a friend of mine had lost both his parents. His father to a heart disease and his mother to breast cancer aswell. Him and his siblings are 8, 17 and 20\. Still very young and now have lost both their parents during Christmas time. It just made me realise how I need to be thankful for anything that im going through because others are going through much more. Im positive all will be fine soon because of your positiveness and love for your partner. All the best and my prayers are with you and your family!

edit: I just saw the good news and didn't realise it. First time seeing this topic and didn't read through to the end. That's great news TT. Im glad its all worked out and remember to be thanks. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Sounds like really positive news TT.

All the very best wishes to all of your family - stay strong and may you all recover extremely well.

Thats good news that you had a good Christmas and New Years. I’ll raise a glass and wish the both of you many more.

Cheers 🥂

Hi guys and girls, just another update on my beautiful partner….

We had an appointment with the oncologist on Thursday,he said that after these next 4 chemo treatments which are 2 weeks apart, she will have a new drug injected every 3 weeks for 12 months plus after the last chemo treatment there will be a 3 week break and then 6 weeks of radiation 5 days a week..

after that ...who knows, but he said they want to make sure they don't miss a thing because she is only young and healthy....

on it goes guys...but hopefully there is a huge light at the end of this bloody long tunnel....

cheers everyone...looking forward to the new season, even though the pre season has been tough....s..t that's been my life so far this year...

Good luck to you and your partner TT. I'm sure there are going to plenty of brighter days ahead for you both!

It certainly is tough @TrueTiger. Very happy it is going well so far. Those medicos are pretty special. The treatments can be pretty yuk but you do what you gotta do. All the best to you and your partner and may you both live a long and happy life together. Go the Wests Tigers.

All the best wishes for your partner and yourself, i know that it is very difficult at the moment but hopefully everything will turn out fine for you both

Hey guys,I would like to share another update in regards to my partners battle with breast cancer..
We had a meeting on Thursday with the radiologist and Oncologist to get an estimate of how much radiation she will have…
The news was extremely overwhelming because they both looked at her pathology results and treatment until now and advised us that she will not need to undergo the radiation therapy as she has less than 3 percent chance of it returning..
Only 2 more chemo sessions to go..although there is a new drug that she has to have,it is administered once every 3 weeks for 16 sessions..

We are nearing the light at the end of the tunnel and I would like to thank the many forum members whom I don't know personally but have wished us well during this trying time...YOU are all great human beings...be strong and be kind to each other,God bless ...TT..
