Is Farah playing next week?
No…his playing for NSW.

Wrong…......'he's' playing for the Blues and the whole of the pride of NSW, the Premier State!.

I think that was the point Ink was trying to illustrate Leroy

One thing I do feel for teachers is discipline. I would love for the cane to be reintroduced. Give the teachers a little power back in the room. I would have no problem givin authority for a teacher to belt my son if he did something wrong.

Same goes for the police. Let them swing a baton once in a while to assholes that deserve it.

Who's with me????

I don't think any of us are Shane, especially those of us who are still at school mate.

One of my biggest complaints about my high school education, that ended a couple decades ago, was that I learnt very little in English class.

I know about verbs and nouns, maybe a bit about adverbs and adjectives, but anything beyond that was never taught. Past participle? WHAT?? On the other hand, my wife is Vietnamese, and was taught about grammar and sentence structures while learning English. While not knowing what every single word means, she knows a hell of a lot more than me about putting them together!

I was always better at maths than other subjects, so I think I would have liked learning latin and grammar. Give me some rules to follow, please!

I don't blame the teachers. I blame the fools who decided to scrap this from the syllabus…

High School English is a waste of time. All that happens is analysising books and movies and making up as much BS about them as possible like what subtle messages and meanings authors and directors try to convey when really its just part of the book/film because the writer said so.

Not quite a waste of time. My love for satire was bred from studying "Frontline" in Year 12 Advanced English

I'd be happy if people stopped writing lol after every 2nd line. Surely not everything makes you laugh out loud?

I agree with that one. When I am mildly amused, I usually write hehehe. LOLs should be a rarity!

Since when don't people know the difference between 'lightning' and 'lightening'? Have a look at what is trending on twitter next time there is a big thunder storm. I guarantee, it will be the latter.

High School english is a waste, srsly a waste.

they don't teach you how to write proper grammar and sentence structures, idk why it's compulsory if they are not gonna teach that. i doubt even 5% of those people will be analysing texts after finishing hsc

You should already know about grammar and
constructing sentences before high school.
