I'm afraid BJ is not in my side until he starts playing 80min top disciplined footy, Mbye the same, he needs to be given a set position and perform there, his downfall is his versatility which I feel for his frustration. I know everyone is going to shoot me down but Twal was a disappointment for me this year, he replaces any player in pack except hooker that is under achieving. Liddle is there if he can get his body looking like a first grader.

I can't believe you threw Mansour in there. And which Smith are you referring to because we're not getting Brandon.

Either Momo (Roberts to centres and Talau or Kepaoa on the wing) or Mbye (with Nofa or Roberts to fullback & Talau or Kepaoa on the wing)

Could Madden play in the halves in Round 1?....leaving Mbye at fullback? Not sure if Madden is ready yet but for the sake of not moving too many players around it would be good if someone could slot straight into 6 for Doueihi.
I think fullback is just an important position as 5/8 so I’d be keeping Mbye there.

Need to start thinking about the backup plan for fullback beyond Mbye. If he drops bombs as regularly as he has in the past he won't last a month there.

I agree Harvey,as the old saying goes If you keep doing the same things you will get the same result.Mbye and Dueihi have not worked, time to try someone different,.I have not seen Simkin but the wraps given say he"s billiant in attack and i hope he gets a run,Madden also appears in clips to be dangerous, although others hear do not think so.The only option is Kepoa at FB he has to be an improvement,at least he can beat a man.

Kepoa hasn’t shown he can take bombs... more often drops them.
Mbye is not as bad as people make out.

Mbye drops as many bombs as anyone and been in grade for years, plus he is ordinary in attack.Kepoa is a kid and still learning, plus has had corrective eye surgery, plus speed ,plus a step, plus gives 100%. No brainer to me.Like all young guys he will make some mistakes but will improve.I have not seen any improvement in Mbye.

I think fullback is just an important position as 5/8 so I’d be keeping Mbye there.

I would much prefer a kid like Madden who has played all his football in this specialst position then people with limited form or experience, give the kids a chance now and then,

Correct, but the Sheens syndrome infected a lot of people here, instead to replacing ‘like with like’, they want to reorganise the whole team??

What are you guys talking about? Doueihi jas played most of his career in the halves, not fullback. Mbye is a utility and basically can play anywhere. Madden did not get any gametime last year. So dont know where your basing your decisions on bringing him straight into FG. He needs tp prove himself on the paddock first.

Doueihi is suspended for game 1,who would you play at 5/8 ? I hope Doueihi kills it at 5/8 ,and Jimmy, and JL, but thats my heart talking, and its not a reliable judge. All we are saying is that you must give the young guys the incentive and i would rather see a kid who has been playing in that position for years given a chance instead of a makeshift player.

When Doueihi played in the halves it was not in first grade,so he has no more experience then Madden in this position.Doueihi has been a capable player without being great, and has not as yet been proven in any position.Brooks, and an underperforming JL are the only 2 players that played in the one position all year in the backs.

Wests Tigers: 2021 round 1 predicted team

Tue 29 Dec 2020, 07:00 AM

In a series analysing who will line up in each position for all 16 teams in the opening round of the Telstra Premiership in 2021, NRL.com looks at the Wests Tigers.

NRL.com says: Billy Walters won't be back from his knee reconstruction to start the year.New recruit James Roberts is set to partner Joey Leilua in the centres, Moses Mbye is likely to start in either the No.1 or No.6 jersey, with Adam Doueihi to take the other from round two once he returns from suspension. The returning Paul Momirovski may have to step in at the back for one game to start the season. Young gun Shawn Blore is pushing the likes of Luke Garner and Michael Chee-Kam for a starting back-row spot.

High-profile recruits in former Panthers skipper James Tamou and former Maroons prop Joe Ofahengaue are likely to form a new front-row pairing but freshly re-signed prop Zane Musgrove or veteran Russell Packer could take one of those spots, or one of the bench spots from Tom Mikaele or highly rated former Eel Stefano Utoikamanu.

Jamie Soward says: Their question marks are around the No.1 and No. 6, which has been the case for a while. Luke Brooks, with no Benji, this has to be his year. If he's going to take the next step, can he do it this year and be the main guy from the start of the year?

It looks like Doueihi will be in the halves with him once he's back but is Mbye the answer at fullback, and what does that system look like in attack? And can Liddle stay fit at hooker?

Ofahengaue and Tamou are big ins and a boost in terms of experience but after that it drops off.

They do have some explosive talent in the backline with Roberts and Leilua in the centres and some great finishers in Nofa and Talau on the wings.

No one will rate them this year and with all the question marks around fullback and five-eighth in particular it's too much for me. I'm not investing in the Tigers because they're not settled and haven't been for a while.

A fair assessment. Mostly these sort of articles are way off the mark.

That team seems most likely. We are slim for fullback options aren't we. Slim meaning zero hahaha

their team makes sense but I'd have Momirovski at 6 and M'Bye at the back to start the season. also Kepaoa is a far better winger than Talau imo.

These 2 forgot about the most important fact for our success next year ....THE MADGE EFFECT...

Wasn't he here this year, and the one before?
