I’d be happy enough to play Mbye off the bench this season. He’s showed me that he hasn’t nailed down any position in his 2 and abit seasons. Therefore his captaincy has to be looked at also. Add to that either Liddle playing for 80 or the young hooker who’s name has escaped me gets a crack at things too. Aren’t the dogs still looking for a halves signing. We could send him back home would be the perfect outcome for us.

That’s Luci mate . Garner runs great holes , Phil Gould said hole right Ning was Blore best attribute. I don’t know about that , I do know he runs hard and hits like a truck . And Simpkins is a weapon as well . I think you’ll find the “weapon” is already in the club . I’m really, really happy with our offseason . If we get Laurie to come a year early , well that’s close to the best offseason we’ve ever had . It doesn’t have the brand names , but it does have way more skill and A plus talent .
To me it’s like a MLB strategy . The Tampa Rays basically build up talent , make them hit commodity , maybe win a pitcher of the year (Cy Young award) , best hitter (Silver Slugger ) or best fielder ( gold glove) , and trade that player for 3 A list minor league players. They’re so good at identifying talent , that most times at least 2 of the 3 players turn out to be good , and they start the process all over again.
The basic principal is there for us , except when we develop the talent , we don’t have to offload it , as we can afford to keep them.
And even if we do , if we bring in top juniors , the pipeline is always there .

I just don’t share your confidence yet mate. I think what Penrith had this year with so many juniors catching fire in a short space of time is really hard to replicate. ****I think we need a few more established players to show the young blood what it takes.****time will tell.

That's all well and good, but there needs to be players available and wanting to come to the club right?

Yes and that worked? Everyone thinks a half is a miracle man.Tell me , is it only a coincidence that top 4 and 8 sides seem to have the best performing halves or the best players in the top 13.

SOO was a typical example,Freddy grass foot ,picked players out of position,and the backs looked terrible,.Teddy got injured,and our supposedly brilliant halves looked like reserve grade players,.Well Brooks had no decent FB, forwards not going forward,backs that were slow and did not perform,and a 5/8 that was living in 2005.Do you really think he is to blame?
