It will for sure. Personally I think they should pool the revenue from all rep games and distribute it accordingly. Test matches (for NZ or Aust) can get 100k, SOO games 50k (or whatever). Start paying the Kiwis some decent cash and they'll stop defecting. Likewise players who turn out for the island nations should get a salary exemption from their NRL club and some of that rep money too. At the end of the day growing the game in NZ and the Pacific benefits the NRL and the NRL clubs. Killing off the game in those countries so that SOO can continue to grow and destroy everything else will be counter-productive in the long run.

it really p**ses me off calling SOO the "pinnacle" of the game. if i was a kiwi, english, or from PNG, fiji etc. i would be very offended. benji touched on that on the footy show and i had that lingering in my head for a long time as well. i agree with him 100%. they want RL to grow but they pay little or no attention whatsoever to international RL.

They deserve at least 50k a game as origin is the jewel in the crown. In saying that, internationals should get a similar deal. But let's not forget origin fills ANZ as it is the biggest contest. What's the largest international crowd you've seen at or anywhere for that matter.

Personally, it's near sighted for the growth of the game if they do it. I agree with Benji and co when they say it will kill off the International game when they allow guys from other countries playing out here to pick their allegiances.

It's something they have to sort out quickly. We have a World Cup next year, no point in having it if we have Kiwi's in SOO let alone in the Aussie side.

I agree that they might want a bigger percentage of the revenue… but...
As others have said they need to make Internationals the best paid.

In saying that and understanding they are all professionals... if players strike from playing any rep footy they should never be picked again... the nsw or qld or australia or even nz & eng or whatever country they come from, jersey should be enough for them to play the game. IMO

Think about it... they are making a living playing the game they love, surely representing your local area is the main attraction... well if its not, it should be!
