Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Well if the pea heart and all his other forward mates had shown some ticker and had a go like bennets basically unknown forward pack, they would have won more games

Yep. All they had to do is turn up physically like they did against Cronulla every week. Even just 80% of the time would have been enough to have us floating around 8-10th. They don't turn up and have a go then blame the club.

Stefano sounds as good as gone for next year.
Ha, stopped paying attention to this story for a while because it was all just hearsay - these direct quotes pretty much confirm he is gone.

Here till the end of the season? Um, thanks.

I don’t think we can be to harsh on him. This club has failed him for most of his tenure here. He’s won 2 wooden spoons on his way to the 3rd I really hope he stays but I understand why he is wanting to leave

To a degree but he has also been renumerated extremely well. If the club's reported offer is correct, they view him as a leader, albeit a young leader. Are the comments he made reflective of a leader? Some have mentioned Pole and I offer the view he has been a far more consistent performer than Utoikamanu. He has demonstrated greater leadership potential than Utoikamanu.

Those comments from Utoikamanu reflect a player who is concerned about the image of him running from a club desperately attempting to rebuild. Obviously he is concerned his brand will take a hit.

I religiously purchased them every week along with the RLW (even having to order them into the local Newsagent in WA and NT while posted there)...

Great information source - before rugby league journalism became all about click bait crap

People may say that we are following the American trend - but outside of the social media millieu there is still a plethora of high-quality match reporting and anaylisis of games/teams etc in the US.

We as the rugby league public are subjected to repetitive fan-girl style PR drivel and click bait BS from the usual suspects every fricking day - despite the growth in broadcast media platforms (or maybe because of it)!!

The human species i devolving...
The NRL should bring back the Big League, they could produce & sell it.

I have said this many times , turn up , kick off and pound the opposition for the first 10/15 minutes you win the game , We had a state off origin half playing absolute shat due to Bateman hunting him all game ! old Nicko had a shocker , it’s pretty simple and off course don’t give up go the 80. Like last week.

I agree, the big head has grown a big head. Api knows he’s going - It was was obvious after the game last week at Leichardt. When Stefano walked up to him Api gave him a quick tap on the chest then turned away abruptly, small thing you might say but it spoke volumes.
Please piss off so we can move on .. Madge can have you at the Raiders, he’s already laid the foundation by enacting your clause.
I thought Api overlooked him a lot in the Dragons game. Stef ran for 40m that game but had plenty of decoy runs where he'd normally get the ball. Api just chose not to pass him the ball which I thought was weird given the circumstances, or simply, deliberate.

Definitely not captain material. Very unprofessional.

Now if i'm not wrong Luai plays left side of the field exclusively. Yet Galvin does too at the moment. Shouldn't we be shifiting Galvin to right to get him some more time on the side he will be playing next year + allows sezer to play on his proper side. I may be wrong tho
Luai is quality if needed he will play right side I feel ,,but yes Galvin could start playing right side now as well , I still feel Sezer / Luai combo now would be the strongest ,

We can replace him with whoever and it won't matter if the juniors aren't coming through and the coaching isn't right. That's why he's leaving. I don't blame him. It is concerning though that he wanted to be the captain last year and now wants to leave.

We’ll know his decision in a couple of games time as it seems we only have 2 more losses until we are ruled out of making the 8 and activating Stephano’s extension.
Don’t think we need to wait 2 more games he is going for sure , we need to be hunting 2 x $ 450 k props now ( add $ 100 k on Stefs contract ) and get 2 props , we were going to pay him 800 k then look to add another at 300/400 so we save and get 2 players who want to be hear

Remember Gus harping on about how in the Penrith system that they play right and left side coming through the grades.

After the Lachie Galvin fiasco - which I believe still has more to playout, I start to question how much the sincere and how much is manipulated by management.

Stefano has a very good offer from the Tigers but then says he wants to go to the market. He is in a no lose situation. He makes some provocative comments that stimulate interest from other clubs to create competition for his services and drive his price up.

Yet 3 months ago he comes and declares he wants to be a future leader at the Tigers? Please.

Who thinks this contract on hold , going to the market is just a ploy to get us to bump up his contract ( via manager ) to simply get more funds for both of them , does anyone think Stef does want to stay but is letting his manager squeeze all the juice out OR does he want to see if another stronger club comes up with similar coin and moves on

Stefano is not that intelligent...reading his quotes in the SMH article...he wants out....not once did he indicate he wants to stay and lead the forwards throught this rebuild, it was all about me me me and how he is sick of losing...hello...so are we but jumping ship ain't gonna fix it mate
