Stephen Humphreys Interviews

We've got more of a chance to be the Man U of the NRL with Humphreys at the helm than what we did when Noyce was here.

But Noyce is ancient history, he's long gone…so why even bother bringing it up, comparing?
Jesus christ ppl let it go!!!

I was using Noyce as a comparison to Humphreys as a point for discussion because that's what these forums a designed for. Should we stop bringing up anything about the Wests Tigers from 2000-2010 because it's ancient history? Come on Ink, it's the off season, lighten up a bit mate. We don't have a current season to talk about, ancient history is all we have at the moment.

Your post just looks another Wests/Balmain crapfest…youve provided no basis whatsoever for your argument and downplay the role of one who was in charge when we challenged for three titles and won two of them

BTW..Noyce was an excellent CEO for the WESTS Tigers...he built the ground work for what we are about to witness...He was the 1st one to give Sheens the space he needed from the FOSSIL FACTOR on the Board of the Wests Tigers...

Geez we blew 12mill in the 1st year...

ALWAY'S had time for the supporters as well at games, email or on the phone....Noyce choose to leave...family reasons from memory...

I agree that Noycey is both a good bloke & a relatively competent operator - but how did he go with bringing in sponsors and retaining them (same as his current time at Easts)?????

He offered a big fat donut in that area!!!

He talked big - but could not walk it!!!! And his recent verbal defences of the likes of Jake Friend being found guilty IN COURT of holding a prescription pain killer that was prescribed to an elderly nursing-home patient - shows that he has bought into the Roosters denial culture!!!!!

He was actually a crap CEO who struggled to retain key players or attract decent money even after we won the comp!!

As for family reasons being behind his resignation - he then went on to take up the same post at one of Sydney's most scrutinised clubs - and that was apparently for family reasons you fool!!!

It's a shame he did not have similar time for sponsors - or to broker sponsorship (given that is what a club lives or dies by)!!!!!

"Family reasons" - my a-hole!!!!!!!

 I knew I'd get 1…not the 1 I thought though....

Tell me how you really feel RED...

Yes.. Noyce wasn't the best at attracting sponsorship...no need to worry about that at the Rorters hey...Uncle Nick takes care of that....

That's why Humhpreys is the man to deliver on 'THE PROMISE'

Thats a crap post
You make it sound as though he totally ignored them.

People talk of the early days with Lamb Pearce and Noyce early and remember how crap we were….they forget to get a new entity off the ground, two foundation clubs for that matter....would be no easy job. Like two 90 year old getting married, both set in their ways....much more difficult than that for a younger couple.

How long would it take to regain sponsors confidences after the hoppa field buddha incidents?
Quite some time.

A clubs natural progression will have its peaks and troughs...just like players ala Prince unfortunate enough to be dominant at a time when Thurston has a firm grip on the rep jerseys scott wants....timing plays a big part in everything. Unfortunately when youre forever going to be dealing with the Hatfields and the McCoys...timing is irrelevant as fossils are timeless

**MOVE ON**!

Great to see another thread fall by the wayside due to people constantly bickering over past events which had very little to do with Humphreys. Thread closed.

Thread re Opened…

Mr Humphreys and the past can be discussed...just dont get personal.....discuss the topic and drop the name calling and Admin/Mods have no problem...

I take the blame squarely for biting and sending the thread awry - my apologies!

As a club we have had a great degree of good fortune to have both Noycey and Humphreys at the senior executive level - and I must also pay tribute to the dedicated and hard-working Board members that we have had over the past 11 years!

Noycey had a hard road ahead of him when he first copped us - and as with the Roosters - he has proven to be a master of turning basket-cases into creditable organisations in short-time!

As for Mr Humphreys - he has a solid working relationship with the media (particularly Fairfax) - but he could learn a bit from Noyce about working with the News Ltd knobs!!!

Very well said …Redemption..I agree..best thing we have moved forward from WESTS/Balmain...

WE are now WESTS TIGERS...as it should be....

Old Magpies die hard but...Lidcombe oval bike track still has very fond memories for me...
